Cali Connection’s Deadhead OG. Hoping it’s good

Hey folks,

another round of plants here in the flower tent. Having known of the controversy that surrounds Cali C, Rasta Jeff (Irie Genetics) found a plant from Deadhead OG that he uses. That was kind of the reason why I bought the pack of fem seeds, not too mention if these genetics are true: 91 chem (Skunk Va) x SFV IBL that would be some kick ass progeny. I did see some variegation early on which makes me hope it’s at least related to that. But I’ll let his genetics speak for themselves good and/or bad. I popped all six, didn’t run into any issues. I’m getting the suspicion these will be hungry girls. Stem rub is nothing out of the ordinary, I’m actually stepping away from that method. I’m flowering 3 femalesand a little female (fem seeds hoping) from a test batch

Ok, recycles coots mix soil reammended with KIS’s nutrient top dress. I top dressed them with Build A Flower’s compost and then will be top watering with Build A Bloom water soluble nutrients. They are sitting on AC Infinity’s wicking pots, they work, but I think there are better systems out there for SIP’s. Yesterday sprayed Water soluble Calcium (KNF) and will spray again with FFJ banana.

Lights are HLG 288v2 quantum boards, they’re sitting at 400-600 ppfd at 25” from the light. The tent is a 3x3x72” from AC Infinity, 4” vortex outtake fan. Temps are 81-82, humidity at around 60%.

Hey folks,

Raised the lights 5” off the tops to 25” above canopy. #1 and 2 (the plants are in numerical order) has some really light green leaves. I’m not seeing any necrosis or deficiencies or toxicity. In fact the light green is through out. The soil got a little too dry a week ago, and did show more green. Could be the pheno. I’m going to give it 3 days to see if that’s it. It could be running out of food too. ‍

two days until the start of week 3, it has gotten greener but not by too much. Last night itop dressed them with 3 tbsp of Root’s Organic Cal Mag (5-1) then spray the shit out of the topsoil with water and Quillaja (it’s a surfactant, makes water wetter, solubilizes more nutrients, saponins help resin production, plant growth and more nutrient uptake). I think next top watering I do, I’ll put half the strength of bloom. I’m thinking the light green is genetic, at least I know that there is no excess nitrogen.

Been pulling fan leaves that block budsites. The tops that get uncovered will start growing up to the established tall tops. Not as tall, but enough to get good light. Once I hit 3 weeks I’m going to increase the brightness, by 100-200ppfd. By that time, they’ve had a fresh supply of nutrients and should be able to take it. I’m hitting the VPD numbers, but it’d be no use hitting “correct” ppfd numbers if it fries it. I need a new light lol, that’s the next investment.

Day 20

I ended it up topdressing with the build a flower and watering in. I think that was a rash decision because they don’t seem to need it. Although i’m glad I didn’t water in the bloom, that would have acted faster. I went ahead and turned up the brightness more, it’s not at the ideal ppfd, but will be next week. There’s been some really warm weather which has made the temps get higher. Today it seemed like the plants grew an inch, I figure the stretching will slow down in the next few days. Other than that just trucking along

Day 36 of Flowering

My bad on the 2 week absence, been meaning to post but always forgot to Plants are drinking a lot of water and they’re still getting taller, although it has slowed down. I’m thinking these girls will go 10 weeks hopefully no longer than that. Smell is really starting to get strong, they have a fruity metallic smell. I’m hoping the fruit fragrance exits. Gave the girls half the dose of Build a bloom by top watering. Going to see how she reacts to that. It’s been 3 weeks since I top dressed with Build a Flower so figured it was time.

Day 42 (6 weeks) of Flower

Hey Folks,

The Girls are bulking and looking great, and they are taking up more water every day. The Fragrance is changing day my day, getting more gas and chemical notes. PBud_Mike, one of the Chem Family, posted up a picture of DeadHead OG from Cali Connection, giving his approval of it. That makes me feel a lot more confident about these girls. I am seeing the “kush berries” develop and the fragrance is definitely pointing towards OG/Chem.

I propped up the girl on the bottom right by a few inches. They were 3-4 inches shorter than the other plants and you can tell it’s a little under developed. All good though. I was able to get clones to root that were taken from each phenotype. Best one wins, lol.

I don’t think these will go past 10 weeks, so 3-4 more weeks. From here on out flowers change daily, ready for the fireworks
