So I read in a book that during flower I should be using a mag-sulfur supplment instead of a cal-mag one . I am using botanicare nutes and I have a bottle of Dyna-gro mag-pro supplment witch is mag-sulfur should I use this in place of the cal-mag during flower or use cal-mag and forget the mag-pro?? Thanx

I run Botanicare PBP Grow/Bloom/CalMag.

Stick with the CalMag, and if you can, get the Botanicare. I use 3ml/gal of CalMag in every watering until the 2nd week of flower, then it goes up to 5ml/gal every feeding.

I never skip my CalMag...

Long story short, never skip your supplements.

Certain things are known to work for a reason. Don't go rocking the boat until you learn to swim.

Keep it simple at first.

There's no reason you can't use Botanicare Sweet in the last 4 weeks of flower, but it's not needed by any means.

I just use 4 things: Botanicare Bloom/CalMag/Ph Up + Hi Brix molasses

Literally my schedule is: (per gallon)

Grow: 3ml CalMag, 2tspn molasses, ph'd

week 1-2 of 12/12: 5ml bloom / 3ml calmag / 1 tblspn molasses, ph'd

week 2-4: 15ml bloom / 3ml calmag / 1 tblspn molasses, ph'd

week 4-8: 20ml bloom / 3ml calmag/ 2 tblspn molasses, ph'd

week 8-10: 2 tspn molasses, ph'd

chop and smoke

Keep it simple. You can start messing with more additives after you get your grow stable and producing the best it can.

Edit to add:

I only feed every other watering, and I let my soil get damned near crunchy before I water it. You want to let your soil dry out in between waterings.

The use of botanicare "Sweet Raw" (don't use the "flavor" ones) is to increase trichome production and size. it also increases the Terp production , thus increasing the natural "smell" of the strain. The Mg and the S do the work.

This DOES work,,,for 65.00 a gallon!
You will go through it fast as you use a rising scale of amount used, up to 20ml EVERY watering!

How would you like to make your OWN for less then a buck a gallon????

Buy yourself a bag of epsom salts and a package of DARK BROWN sugar.

Now bring 2 cups of water to a rolling boil.
Add 8 Tbl of the epson salt and 1 1/2 tsp of the dark brown sugar and boil for 3-5 min. Stir constantly to be sure the whole thing is dissolved properly.
Now add to 3/4 of a gallon of cool water in an opaque gallon container and add the boiled mix.

Bingo! You now have a gallon of "sweet" that is better then the Botanicare product.

I use it to GREAT success like this.

Last 2 weeks of veg - 10ml per gallon
First 3 weeks of bloom - 15ml per gallon
Last weeks till wash - 20ml per gallon

STILL RUN your Ca/Mg during bloom.

Mg/S, like I said is for tric and terp production and it does work....

I agree, certain additives DO work.

And dude, I am going to have to look into your recipe. Looks so simple it just might be the tits.

But if you opened up that tiny page he took a pic of...

That article was telling him to completely stop using CalMag after swapping to flower and to only use MagS instead.

That is why I was trying to get across to him to always use his CalMag, even if he plans on supplementing with extra sweeteners later.
