cheapest one i found was on amazon for 120$. It is small and slow. Takes maybe 3 hours to fill a 5 gallon with my water pressure. But for what i need it works just fine. I mounted it in my laundry room and piped in to the laundry machine with a valve.

They have hydro one for 500 that gets 1:1 and most get 1:4. If you're interested let me know and I'll look around for it. It does 500 gallons a day which is crazy but the 50 gallon I got only does about 20 in a day with no pump and takes for ever.

RO specs are similar to LED specs- over exaggerated by miles. Much depends on the volume of your storage tank. Typically complete units come with 3 gallon storage tanks, which will expel ~ 2/3 at a time = ~ 2gallons, then you have to wait for it to refill before getting another 2 gallons. Now a 500 gpd might provide a pretty decent continuous flow if you bypass the storage tank

I use the ro buddy 50 gpd 4 stage from amazon. It's hooked up to a float valve in a 20 gallon rubbermaid brute trashcan. it takes about 10 hours to fill from empty, but it is completely hands off. I think the whole thing cost less than $150 Canadian delivered.

On my second grow and I'm still getting 0ppm. I'm pretty pleased with the purchase considering the low cost though I do wish it was a little faster. The deionization filter barely lasts a few months. I removed it from the system and didn't see any changes in ppm.

Why thank you for your honest opinion, it was very helpful.
That is an excellent price for sure, maybe I will go just a little bigger unit as my water is about 325 PPM out of tap and I want this for myself to drink as well as plants . I wont drink out of plastic bottles.
It is safe to drink my local Ontario tap water but I know things grow better with clean water as I did it grow via grocery store distilled water but getting it became a real pain.
Any idea your PPM's before you purchased your filter and after?(you mentioned zero PPM?)
This will be my second grow as well.
How did your first one go?
I have all these seeds I recently impulsively bought ,but now cant decide what to start.
Did yours turn out ok?
Not in my wildest dreams did I ever think this would be an issue I ever faced as I have never grown pot before a few months ago.

The PPM at the tap was 220, we replaced/upgraded all the plumbing in the house three years ago. I tried my meter at a friends newer condo who also lives downtown and her PPM were in the high 200's. I initially started with a filter for an RV but it only brought the ppm down to 200 and that was only if I let the water trickle through the filter. Any pressure and it didn't really seem to do anything at all.
My first grow was northern lights and it a smashing success IMHO, I ended up with 1.22 grams per watt. More than two of us could possibly smoke in a year. I made a lot of mistakes and learned a ton. I had way too many tops which cased my buds to by really small, at least they were dense. I hope to have larger buds this time, trimming so many small buds was a pain in the ass! How did your first grow turn out?
I was in the same position, never dreamed of growing until they started shutting down all the dispensaries and all I could get was expensive low quality weed from the OCS.

Mine went ok,
I purposely selected regular seeds so I could now what to look for females.
I got maybe 1/2 what you did but buds are much bigger but if it smokes ok who cares.
I just cut all the small lower stuff off as plants grew, lollypop they call it. That was purpose of grow to learn LST, SCROG, FIM, FIRM etc so plants were like victims in a torture chamber lol
One was Rosetta Stone, one gorilla glue skittlez, the skittlez glue was great the other grimm brother rosetta stone was just average . You will have to excuse my lack of full size pics have apple-windows things stopping me loading them but here is the trics of the buds . Found some killer seeds in Canada, all ready for round two as this grow with be with 3 times the watts, 10 times the plants, and much better idea what to do now.
I had no humidifier, dehumidifier, UVB , got all that last few days now. VPD is what makes good buds. if you stay in the guidelines it helps as does a good PH-TDS-EC pen as you seem to have already.
