Same rates all the way through if you asked me... You could probably use less up to the first Res change as the plant will be smaller...
And yes you do need to use it. . Especially if you use RO water. It builds strong cellular walls which prevents numerous disease and infection.

I think most general feeds will have the appropriate (or close to) amounts of cal/mag for most average grows. I will however mention I have found a need to supplement depending more so on the lighting I use. I use both HID (HPS & MH) and LED lighting and found the plants that never needed additional magnesium under HID now need it under LED's. The plant will let you know what it needs. If you do end up using magnesium supplements, I start with 2 ml per gallon and give it a cpl days -then adjust from there if needed.

i am useing the canna aqua line,looks alittle light green to me atm is all and im 2 weeks into veg,they are growing very fast and look heathly just a tad light in colour

Think it depends on the water you begin with. I had very purple stalks and papery leaves until I began supplimenting calmag as there was none at all in my water. Over a couple of days the purple disappeared and the leaves filled out noticably. It doesn't take much at all... Both calcium and magnesium are key elements in plant growth.. but if it's already in your water then you might be right...

Do you know the ppm of your Tap water that you're using? In many parts of the world RO water is laughed at as the tap water is usually pure enough for it to not be a concern. In my case, water comes from the faucet at 7ppm. I've seen some say theirs is 600... I can understand the use of RO in that case.. anything less than 150ppm I would save the 200bux. It's also important to understand what your water contains and this can be requested or found from your local water treatment plant.

Yeah man... The perks of living in an alpine environment! Comes straight off the snowpack. Downside is my Vege garden is a struggle.. but I now have 2 greenhouses one of which is mostly hydroponic. I still struggle to bring things like peppers to full maturity. It is nice though to just drag the hose in from outside and fill my res.Your tap water is 7 PPM? Wow...you are lucky my friend

No, Mine is 110 but who knows what is in the 110. Salts come in various purities. Municipal water supplies do not buy for purity, just price
