Is buying heatsinks from alibaba worth it? well that is a great question. I have seen numerous posts from people quoting an Ali price and using it to shit on heatsink products that are in the market from USA, EU, and other suppliers.

What I have never seen is this: "Hey, I bought 20 heatsinks through Alibaba. The quoted price was $3 each, once machining, drill, import , brokerage, shipping, etc was taken into account, my cost per unit landed to my door in the US or EU was $13 per unit" This proved to be 33% cheaper than other suppliers, and here is my invoice.

Lets see that from someone.... then we can answer the question in the title of this thread.

I know is big difference in price It's 14,75 $/pcs to my door .
They can also make any customization (drilling tapping) etc...
@Netherfly had already done a grow journal with heat sinks from there and as he mentiond the didn't have any heat problems at 24 Celsius room temp heat sink never exceed 42c.
Thanks for the reply

Please take note of my later post 12xCXB3590 Passively Cooled

In a hot climate i wouldn't use them, but luckily you can upscale the heatsinks to any size you want with the chinese :)

That's why I told him to send me an invoice with 120mm diameter witch is rated for 60e it is a bit bigger than yours .
What to do think ? Should I order bigger ? Summer is very hot here I will control the room temps with Ac of course ...

In the thread he referenced, Netherfly paid $235 for 22 heatsinks shipped to the netherlands. $10.50/sink to his door for passive.

Im trying to run them actively cooled (~half the weight) shipped to the Bay Area. I can have them all drilled/tapped by a buddy in an hour at a local machine shop for a case of beer and a sack.

Whats the difference between shipping 50pcs from China or 50pcs from Oz?

Even with Netherfly's numbers....its still half price for me to buy thru alibaba.

Here is the invoice they sent me although i will probably end up going with something with a little more mass....

Just to get an idea. Also, fuck my buddy this spot charges $.04/heatsink to drill m3 holes. Im drinking that case of beer.

I have no agenda whatsoever. Im a cheap bastard who appreciates options.

Even with a cheap drilling machine you can easily do it @home also ;)

The known way.... 16 cxb at 1400 + 4 vero 29 v.1 90 w each from my old grow room all cobs I will dim them through a Plc(program logic controller )
Yeah I need to at least jump on the Arduino train. I use my Raspberry Pi for lots of cool things, but it's not something I'd trust for automation.

Maybe hit up @Greengenes707 about the prices on his 120mm heatsinks. The 140mm are only $17, so expect less than that, pre-drilled and no alibaba hassle.

The Plc I have is a modular one for industrial automation I use it before in a huge tobacco rolling machine.you can can do what ever you want with that shit but is very expensive .
