Butane of choice

@Flagg420 why is it so hard to get Puretane? Its easily available on amazon.
I know other butane brands like Vector and Power 5 but I don't like them.
Puretane made the mistake of advertising for use for things other than lighters... So the US gov't said "No sales here!"

You can 'get' it on Amazon, if you find a vendor whos stupid, but even then, the price is insane compared to what it was a year ago...

The 'tane is still around, just... hit a marketing snag....

Whip it Ultra Pure is what I used, got it at the local cigarette outlet but next time I'll order a case. What about MZX12 anyone use that, seen it on YouTube.

Got a case of whipit premium a while back, few cans in freezer, just havent actually run a batch yet...

@Flagg420 thanks for informing us about the No sales on puretane in US.
@Hoare - that link was awesome, so many of butane to choose from. I'll try others but definitely, will not choose a cheap Korean brand again. Thanks!

The Puretane that we tested wasn't as clean as the 99.5% pure Instrument Grade butane that we get from Apis Labs in Eugene. Attached is a picture of the residual from loading a case of Puretane.

The 99.5% Instrument grade actually tested 99.9% pure relative to molecules larger than C-4, and after we re-distilled it, it measured more than 99.99% pure.

There are no visible deposit droplets with the Instrument grade, only a film.

Here is a link to test done by Skyhighler on most of the available brands. https://www.icmag.com/ic/showpost.php?p=6099306&postcount=28

Yea... I don't have access to instrument grade butane from apis labs.... guessing very few ppl do....

Guessing even fewer have the means to re-distill their butane......

Great for you, enjoy the fuck outta that shit.... but its not really a recommendation anyone can take seriously...

Sort of depends on where you live, because they ship via Old Dominion. They sell Praxair LPG, which is also available nationally from multiple sources.

Anyone with a Terpenator can redistill the butane and many do. Including lighter fuel. Did you check Skyhighler's link?

Yea, I dont have a terpinator... and it sounds kinda like a $2000-$4000 piece of laboratory equipment...

Its like you are talking about how great the tax breaks are for people earning $300k a year..... to a room full of pizza delivery drivers.... You are probably right, but it has no bearing on the lives of the little people... not in the same field as a $9 can of butane.

Flagg420 do you watch Weediquette, check out the last episode with Kind Bill. He makes live res and whips it into butter on a hot plate and looked like was done the same day no vac chamber.

I don't, but I am pretty sure live resin is solvent free.... no butane, no need to vac purge.

But if ur using butane... get it ALL out before smoking it...

No he ran butane through it they showed the process in clips. He had the column in a deep freezer or whatever called then packed it and ran butane through and even talked about recovering the butane. Finnished off whipping on the plate saying how he can just as effectively can whip the butane out open air with heat, he actually preferred the wax. I feel like purging when it's constantly bubbling up is messing with smell maybe more. Am I right that butane evaporates at 31f so it shouldn't take much

I suggested a Terpenator because they do double duty, but a a simple cold trap and recovery pump will work. The process is the key point, not the equipment.

I offer processes, but alas not miracles. The process is also the cheapest way I know to remove the mystery oil, so if you can't afford that, you ostensibly are stuck getting your concentrates from someone who can, finding a source of higher grades of LPG that you can afford, or living with mystery oil.

Did you check out Skyhighler's list of residual MO in the various brands to see which one that you have access to is best?

If you got $5000 in extraction equipment, closed loop, recovery, etc...

This post is kinda not meant for you...

This is for people making oil at home, and trying to do it safely... You are talking about lab-processed.

Yes, if you have several that kind of setup, even at home... its still a lab.

Thats like saying "You don't even need a vac chamber"
No... you just need a closed loop system, cold trap, recovery tank, vac pump (wait, what?? But you just said...)

You either spend $200 on a chamber/pump setup, and purge the fuck out of it for days... or spend a few grand, and make the process faster, and more ...well... fuel efficient.
