Bushy indica..a little too bushy?

Okay so I'm currently growing critical Kush which is 100 percent indica and I've made sure to keep the light as close as I can (I'm using 1x 1000w hps, drop hanging) which is advised at 2 feet. So they have like no stretch, which is sick but now its hard as fuck to get light to the new growth. Reflective material behind the plant only goes so far.. I have more lights I can use. Having said that, should I put another light pretty much below the top of the plant so new growth can get just as much light? But then again won't that fuck up the stoma that are on higher leaves? The big fan leaves are causing the shadows, clearly. Thanks guys!

Considering you are using a 1000W light, there is no need to be concerned with light penetration. A light meter will help to show you. A lot of light does penetrate that is not visible to the eye. A light meter can detect what the human eye cannot.

I don't worry about lower branches and trimming until after a couple of weeks into flower. Just my preference.

Cool thanks goddess, I remember reading about there's a lot of light we can't see, the whole spectrum of colors. I didn't know it penetrated tho, awesome. Thanks again

I kind of have the same problem I got 3 kandy kush autos about 22 days old im veging under 4" 8 bulb their only about 7 inches tall and they p rolly have 8 nodes I'm working on LST they they stem is so thick I can only bend I little every day

^^ What Grow Goddess said. I am curious how much stretch this girl will give you when the flip happens. Guess I will just have to wait and see ;-)

You are spending an assload of money on electricity for that little plant. A 1k on a veg cycle can easily be over $100 a month depending where you live.

what im hearing from all of you sounds to me like the defenition of an auto flower...short, bushy, tight nodes that WILL produce DENSE buds....I would worry at all. my experience all auto strains pack on the weight no matter how tall

Not worried just want to try and get it opened up a little bit since im gonna be flowering with the t5 due to heat issues where their at

Wait so you're vegging with a 1000w HPS and you're gonna flower with a floro? You've got it backwards bro lol. You said heat is a problem but how is it not a problem right now while you're vegging?

EDIT: nevermind, got people and their avatars mixed up lol

I'm vegging three plants with one 1k hps and they have to be 2 feet away cuz the light power will burn ur plants if their that close, I'm sure the lux under a foot away with a 1k is enough to kill a plant. And yea when I flower I'm going to t5...no u fucking idiot I have 3 more lights that are 1000w for when she flowers

And heat is not a factor with proper ventilation and placement..when I have all the lights running that might be a problem
