I've been spraying 2 different pesticides all year and have kept the bugs away . I go out today and notice a ton of these little black bugs with a white dot on them . Anyone know if these are harmful ?

Do they have legs like a beetle or fly or are they more Caterpillar like? The picture is very small for me to get a real good look but if it is caterpillar like and they are inching around and they are black with a white dot in the middle then what you have is the larval stage of a black swallowtail butterfly. they are really cool but destructive and the butterfly that they become is beautiful. Ive hatched out a ton this summer. If that is what they are and you want to get rid of them use some soapy water in a spray bottle .It works better than you think it would on caterpillars. Keep me up to date if you can , now Im curious.
