Buds stopped growing

what do you mean by ''the flush''?
Oh...I was told to stop giving fertilizer one week before I cut it and just switch to straight water. That way it flushes the fertilizer out of the plant. Because I don't know when the plant is ready, I have no idea how to calculate "One week before cutting it".

So, just "for the record", I transferred the seedling, from a cup, on March 20th. So...almost 4 months ago. May 22nd, I switched her over to 12/12 and gave her 6 weeks to bloom. On July 3rd the flowers were "Supposed" to be formed and then it was supposed to be three more weeks of maturing, bringing me to a cut date of July 24th and the flush date to tomorrow, July 17th.

Did I mess up the timing of things or is my plant just a slow grower?

Don't worry about flushing it's just a myth. Once the nutrients and minerals are in the bud there is no way to get them out. You can start tapering down the nutrients in a couple weeks or so just don't go crazy. That plant has at least 3 weeks to go maybe more.

well, you cant actually get the fertilizer out of the plant for 2 weeks anyway... i stop ferts when i dont really see any more white hairs shooting and give just molasses and alg-a-mic by biobizz

Perfect! So...how do I know when to start the flush? Is there some physical sign that I'm about a week away?
Just keep posting pictures here - good bunch of guys willing to help out.

typically you’ll see those white hairs start to go brown - then they start to swell and finally the hairs recede Into the buds.

Invest in a 60x microscope to check your trichomes. You want as cloudy as possible with little clear and amber. Also check the actual buds instead of the bud leaves. As the leaves mature faster than the buds.

Just keep posting as I said and we’ll help you out.

Don’t flush. Juat taper down your feeds towards the end (we’ll guide you) and then finish with plane water for the last week.

Thanks so much guys! I will post another update in about 2 weeks. I think, if I can get a feel for how the buds progress, from you guys, I'll be able to know what I'm doing the next time around.

Reading the thread so far - you have 3-8 weeks to go, maybe 10 --- 3 weeks minimum; NO HURRY - plenty of time to plan ahead based on the experience you read here.

My newbie $.02 -
Keep track of weeks, but stop using them as a count-down clock - they'll be ready when they're ready (unless you have a delivery deadline --- doubtful ;) )
The plants have probably stopped growing, but the buds will be fattening and stacking from now on.
Watch for dying leaves and keep an eye on trichs - changing from clear to cloudy / amber.
Post back on the this thread as you go --- day to day changes are easier to spot when you can look back at pics from last week.

RELAX & ENJOY - this is a pretty slow-motion hobby; very little needs to be done NOW.

There are A LOT of VERY EXPERIENCED growers willing to show us how THEY do it - what WORKS for THEM.
Some of them have done it THEIR way for a lot of years - because THEIR way works for THEM.
edit --- Take their experience and USE IT!

Look at grow journals that line up with your method or one that you're interested in (soil / hydro / HID / LED / 4x4 / etc):
Emulate the healthy green journals and make "what not to do" notes when you read about problems - deficiencies, burns, etc.

Take what works, leave what doesn't - make it YOUR grow.
My mentors in person and here on RIU have directed my current grow more than I have. It's on ME to develop MY method and give back by journaling successes and failures.

Hello, well I'd back off on nutes quite a bit and give it more light.
Can u give some data on your light + proximity it has to the plant?

So somewhere between 2-5 weeks?
I realize that you guys can only give advice based on blurry pics, but as this is my first grow, I figure your ballpark guesses will still be better than mine. I would have pulled it a few weeks ago, based on a chart I found. I would have, clearly, been VERY wrong.

Thanks so much, guys! I will post another pic, in two weeks!
