yikes. Well. You waited ten weeks. Good job on patience. Did you learn anything from this grow?

I agree with above. Stop the dead stuff off before you hang

and did I read harvest when pistils are 50% brown lmao so 50% white
Growing styles are really a personal choice & every grower that I've known has their own style/quirks (I sing to my plants :) ), some good & some I don't agree with
As far as scoping trichs I dont bother anymore (too hard to see clearly for me).
I had noticed that when 1/2 the trichs were amber, the hairs were also around half brown. and half is what I like.
They will get darker as it dries.
I find it to be a smoother & more mellow smoke, vs a sronger, in my mind a harsher smoke.
I also go by calender & the way the leaves look.
So you guy's can get your loupes out and struggle to see what the trics look like, I gave up that shit.
Now, I just look at the bud and can tell if she's finished.
It works for me :)

And as far as singing goes, I found that most plants, especially Sativas' like Soft Cell (I grow mostsly Sativa dominant).

Indicas this (they like Reggae :) )

I would also harvest those. As for pistils, each strain, even each plant can be a bit different. I like to rely on a constellation of signs of ripeness, rather than just one. Most of the time, i wait for the majority of pistils to change color and recede into the bud, while the seed bracts are maximally swollen. Some strains will keep throwing white pistils right up until the end, which can make things more difficult for new growers learning these signs of ripeness. The entire bud will also take on a different hue, it won't look like a bright growing flower any longer, it looks more like a ripe fruit, and it takes on a rusty tinge-if you look at the trichomes at this point, you'll see plenty of amber, WHICH IS GOOD.

I highly suggest new growers to leave a bud on the plant wayyyy past the point they think it's ripe, just to see the changes that take place, and to sample it along the way. Doing so will blow away a lot of the misconceptions that are common regarding harvest times, trichome color, etc.
I appreciate the way you explain shit. Thx from a beginner

I don’t use Mags. Pointless outdoors and even indoors really.
I let the plant tell me when it’s done as well. When all the pistils retract back into the flower after swell. How all cannabis plants work. White hairs means still growing means not done means green apple still.
I promise you cannot show me a picture of a mature ripe flower covered in white hairs 50% still. But you are right when it comes to you being in control. You have that rite away

If you had half white pistils I can guarantee you have zero amber trichomes.
