Buds for Less setup (First Grow)

Some picture updates, you will notice a few things are different. My crawl space turned out to be no match for November in Ohio. My flower room got to 60 with a 400w HPS running and 55 with lights out. So my old closet got put back in use.

I have some new additions in the flower room. SmellyTreez (sp - I'm high) has a thread for 12/12 from seed in a party cup. After reading through the thread seeing people saying wtf, why not? I have seeds, space and light. I thought to myself: "wtf, why not? I have seeds, space and lights too!" So here are 4 bag seeds from some good stuff I got recently. 8 weeks under 12/12 in a party cup should have some fun results. I likely wont yield jack shit but it will be fun to compare mine to guys under the same grow conditions.

The final picture is of my future mommies. 1 Killing Fields F2 and 1 Herijuana x Big White. These have both just been topped using Uncle Bens topping technique. They are roughly three weeks old from planting the seeds.

Hey F.C. looking good. Maybe you already said this but it's hard to know because these journals get long but have you used any nutes yet? Also was the soil the MG that is supposed to feed for 3 months, or 6? Or was it Organic MG?

I used only the Miracle Grow soil for nutrients during the entire grow. It's just regular MG soil, bag says feeds for up to 6 months.
 
hey man the 2700K lights work good but a mixed spectrum would work better 2700K's and 6500k's. The only shitty think I dont like is the 6500K lights make your leaves bleach but all in all if you mix the spectrum your plants will grow more vigorious then just using the 2700k's. other then that everything looks good so far. If ya need some help let me know.

I'm not using any 2700k bulbs since I got the 400w HPS for flower. The only CFL's I am using now are 4x26w 6500k in my veg cabinet.

Ya i just noticed that man. Very nice you did a very good job. +Rep to you. check out my grow at day 10 into flowering its my second grow and I took a culavation class to this summer :) so I know quite a bit now.
 
I just "flushed" my girls with 2x the usual water (3 liters vs. 1.5 for regular watering). I drained all of the excess off so they can still breath. These two will probably be coming down in the next few days. I am considering unplugging my timer in the morning once the lights go out. I've heard giving them the last 4-5 days in the dark helps the harvest somehow?

I've heard maybe 2 to 3 days darkness before harvest but why risk it - it looks like you have some seriously nice buds there.
I would harvest this lot without experimenting, then play with later harvests ... that way you will have some way of comparing actions to results instead of not being quite sure what caused what result.

Ok then, I am going to give them a few more days to dry out and mature a little more. Once they are ready, it's harvest time. Thanks for the kind words G.O.D. hopefully I can have a nice cured bud to smoke right before my Thanksgiving dinner :bigjoint:
 
It's certainly been a pleasure watching your first grow from the beginning.
I was hoping for bud by Christmas but because of the "issues" that my plant had I don't expect cured bud until late January ... which coincides with my birthday :-)

ive always done 24-36hrs darkness...when u keep the trichs in the dark they flourish..they do most of there growing and maturing at night...thats y they tell u to fry and cure in dark spaces...it takes about a week for the plant to send a hormone through itself telling it its time to die one or two days wont hurt at all! i garentee u will be pleased once u pull her out the darkness simply amazing!...take a look at ur trichs at night its pretty kool...in my last grow a hurricane took my power out for a day and my tree was fine! matured it for a few more weeks and she came down..noffin was wrong...it wont hurt just give it a shot

Plant looks too healthy to chop ;)

I'd say give her more time man...... i know its rough.. i wanted to chop mine like. 2 weeks ago.. but..... it's STILL looking better everyday.

And im pretty sure yours could use another week?

What do your trichs look like? i check mine every 4 hours lol
