Buddha's dream sin city

I had an old journal on these beans awhile back but give the thread a dumb name and wanted to have a clear title for these last ten beans. I bought a 15 pack of sin city buddha's d back in july 2013 and started 5 beans. I stopped logging on to rollitup because other shit taking priority. Long story short out of five got three females two males no herm issues three phenotypes two were nice yielders one was not, all were potent. Flavors were plant A subtle almost none existing blueberry w/ strong hash, B was blue dreamish in every way but still different, C was hazy spicy fruit taste. Both B and C were the yielders. A finished fastest at around 65 days and the other two could have went 80+ days but I chopped at about 75ish.

I used the best males of the two I got to cross with three critical sensi stars, to be named later. The male was last to show its ball sacks, a nice fruity smell and thin fan leaves the blue dream is know for, plus it had nice resin production for a male. I have a good feeling about this cross.

The last ten now going but are a little behind due to a buddy starting them before I took over, long story but he started them while I moved. He had them in small rock wool cubes so they got a slow start. I just transplanted into dwc about one week ago. They're now about three weeks old. The ones in back are same green as ones in front, they're just under orange t-5 in the back versus all blue in the front t-5 lamp, but did suffer worse from the small grow medium. Hopefully the taller ones end up being males any way as the one in the back right hand corner has what appears to be balls forming. The two smallest are in one bucket for those counting at home.

Looks like I will only get those three females, unless either of the two smaller plants in the same bucket end up being female, all the rest are males. Males we be chopped soon.

On the plus side, I'm cracking seeds of my buddha's dream (male) and critical sensi star (females). I'm pretty stoked about these because all the CSS plants involved were great tasting, good structure, nice yielders and frost covered. The male was nice smelling with skinny leaf blades and compact growth as well as being the last male to show. I will probably start a journal on these beans soon as well.

I'll grab some flicks of the four females tonight, so far they're looking good. And all 9 beans of my dream star have popped and were put in rock wool last night. I'll start a journal once they sprout up out the wool. Cheers.

Numbers 1 and 4 are leaning more sativa dom while #s 2 and 3 are squat little indica dom. They're doing good despite a rough start.

On a side note, all eight seedlings of critical dream star are up and out of the rock wool.

I'm surprised that after nearly 2 years, I haven't found a single grow of buddha's dream on the net. Nor have many replied with their experience of growing BD.

I really would have like to have gotten my last grow of this strain posted but shit happens. The last three females were in dirt and these four are in DWC so I'm more stoked about this grow anyway.

Once I get the critical dream star sexed and males gone, I'll either start some HSO sour blueberry and blue dream femmies (if package arrives) or some tangerine dreams. But honestly I would rather wait to pop all 30 of the tangerine dreams at once rather than popping ten at a time but I need much more space for all that noise.

Anyone who has grown or smoked Buddha's dream fill free to chime in. Cheers

#2 is a chunky little girl with a thick stalk and thick ass stems that look very sturdy. Her fan leaves are huge.

#1 Had to tie that mother down, but not as much as #4.
Here is #1's fan leaves.

So far I'm not disappointed.

Probably only running about 600 ppms, have to acquire a new meter but I'm very familiar with the GH line and I'm able to approximate dosage. Ph is sable around 6.0ish.

They will be hitting 12/12 real soon, so hopefully that will strike up a little more interest.

Will be putting in 12/12 within the next few day. Start them under a 600 hps and then possibly a 1000 watter if temps are doable. Will also cut clones soon just in case there is something worth keeping. Cheers.

17 days since I transplanted these gals from their rock wool prison and about 31 days total. I will be throwing these gals in flower tomorrow, most likely under a 600 watt hps but maybe a 1k watter. I took clones from each by simply cutting the clone dipping it in water and then into rock wool, no gels or powders and no wilt (the picture is roughly 30-45 minutes after I cut them.

So far #1 and #4 are the sativish leaning girls, with #4 having the skinny claw type leaves familiar to hazy strains. #2 & #3 are squat thick indicas with huge fan leaves.

#2 the thickest stem and fattest leaves.

#4. Tallest most sativa looking of the gals and the one with skinniest leaves. I have her tied down all over.

As this photo shows, I do like to keep the clones in less light. They are not on the ground but on a box sitting low, so not too cold. Once I get the smaller veg tent running I'll have the clones on the heating pad with the seedling until I transplant the seedlings into a DIY DWC vegger. Holler and stay green.

For anyone who is curious, this strain does great with low fertilizer levels. Cheers, and I will see you on the other side of the flip.

Also, hopefully I don't jinx myself but #1, far left front row, has a great hint of fruity when I was pinching stem the other day. Hopefully I get a little of that sour cherry the buddha's sister is know for.

I'm surprised no one is interested in this strain here on RIU. I mean a blue dream clone hit with buddha's sister, so blueberry haze x sour cherry and no one is intrigued?

Either way I'm sure that'll will change here in a couple more weeks once these girls start putting on their make-up.

I'm going to build a PVC cage around the two taller girls to keep their heights under control, 'cause these girls got some stretching to do. Hasta la vista.

I made PVC cages for the two sativa phenos. The cage for #1 is 22 inches from the top of the bucket lid, and #4 is 23 inches high. The two indica phenos I did not top and will let them do their thing natural since they don't seem to be stretching like the other two.

I didn't shut off the hps so pic is whatever but give you an idea of the cage I put up for scrog'n.#2 tr.jpg

Here are the clones, still healthy and zero wilting. Plain tap water and rock wool, no dumb ass dome or waste of money dips. Easy.4.jpg

Here is a shot of the group, sorry it's not the clearest. I was holding up a piece of card board to block light. Rotation from the far back left corner clock wise; #2, #3(right back corner), #4 (front right), #1(front left).grpp.jpg
Here are the two separate leaves of the sativish dom. phenos and as you can see, #4 has the very skinny leaves common with the buddha's sister and blue dream clone only. #1 has the more standard hybrid leaves but has the fruitier smell so far. Both are stretchers as why i have the scrog ready to rock.

So far, #2 is third tallest but has the widest diameter stalk. #3 is the runt, but as you can see from the group picture not to shabby for a runt. Both of these are the indica dom, which is particular becaue both buddha's sister and the blue dream clone are stretchy sativa dom. phenos, or at least I thought. Perhaps it's throw backs to the blueberry or Afghani/hawaiian/holland's hope/ super skunk traits from buddha's sister. How nice would it be to find a blueberry or a flying hawaiian in a pack of buddha's dream? Doubtful.

By the looks of the plants it would appear that I might just have both a descent indica and a descent sativa high in the mix here. Cheers.

For growth comparison, go back to the first page.

Far back row in the middle is #4.
Middle row far right is #1.
Middle row far left is #3. (Number 3 was originally in a bucket with the other runt of the group but that runt was male.)
Front row far right is #2.

They've grown quite a bit. Dwc, tap water, GH three part (no additives) ph'd at 5.5-7.0 (I like to let it swing and so do the plants), these girls have all been fed 5 ml of micro/grow/bloom (mixed in that order, not sure if it matters but I'll put it out there) per gallon and only topped off with water (changed reservoir Every two weeks and vegged 1 month approx.) I don't have ppm/ec meter but I've been using GH for years and I'm fairly sure this nute ratio gives about 500-600 ppms that's including the tap water.

When I switched to bloom my ratio went to transition which I do a little less than the 2-2-2 ratio they suggest. 20ml micro, 15 ml bloom, 20ml bloom for about 3.5 gallons of water. Still only about 700 ppms tops, but I still feel this maybe to high but I have yet to see signs of stress i.e. burnt tips or curled up leaf edge.

Just green machines that's about to get the eyes popping because if they're anything like the first three BD girls I did in dirt, then the resin should start pretty soon, which is always nice to see.

Anyone that has got these beans laying around, pop them they're easy growing and large plants. Cheers.

Did a smell check by rubbing the stems.

#1. Has a fruity smell that reminds me of old school blueberry's smell in veg. (This plant so far
is leaning toward what I what, quick strong growth easy to scrog, got the blue smell. Now if
it retains that blue taste and has a nice high with chunky buds, she's a keeper.

#2. Has a pepper or tomato plant smell, not appealing and I hope this doesn't translate in final
product. I had a GH white widow that smelt the same and tasted like it smelt, but on the
other hand I had a top 44 that smelt like this until the buds came and then it had a kick ass
fruity skunk taste. So I hope this smell changes.

#3. Smells like celery, wtf! Both of my indica dom. smell like vegetables, no joke. Like I said
above, I sure's to hell hope this smell fades when the flowers come because only gin
drinkers and celery lovers would like this flavor.

#4. Has a play doh smell with a light citrusy/fruity/peppery undertone. This is the tallest and most
sativa appearing so I think it will be a haze or buddha's sister dom. phenotype.

So, far #1 is the one I'm keeping my eye on. If there's a chance at a blueberry or sour cherry pheno, this is my raffle ticket.
