Budder vs. Honey Oil

Hi Guys
I have a friend who claims that budder is more potent than BHO, which i very much doubt since it's made from the same. My claim is that 1 gram of BHO will contain the exact same amount of cannabinoids as 1 gram of budder thus making them equally potent.

My friend claims that the oxidation etc. from whipping the oil makes it more potent - what's your experience with this?
 
Your friend is right. Both concentrates should be used according to mass, not weight. 1 dab of budder will get you just as high as the same mass amount of BHO, but the weight of that mass of Budder will be less than that of the BHO. So, in theory, by weight, Budder is more potent than BHO.

I don't get that. By weight budder should be same potency as BHO? If i'm wrong why would anybody ever not whip their oil for those last 5-10 minutes to get that extra potency? - just doesn't make sense to me.

I don't whip my honey oil. I would recommend a vacuum purge technique. whipping only removes about 90% of the butane if your lucky.I will be making a DIY thread next week when I get my new extractor in. Its gonna be awesome. when you make budder you are SIMPLY adding air bubbles to the mix. air bubbles SIMPLY don't get you high.


and, you're smoking oil, does it even really matter? :eyesmoke:

So you have the same opinion as i do. I agree that air bubbles won't get you high, but it might ad something to combustion or whatever. Maybe the cell walls in the lungs can only take up so much THC from a dab. Don't know, but i would think that making budder could only make the hash less potent over time since THC will get air.
I've just heard a lot of people paying almost double for budder compared to oil so that just sound's stupid.
 
i really enjoy budder and prefer to smoke it over oil. from personal experience i noticed that if you put a few grains of budder in a joint vs spreading oil on the paper; the budder joint is way more potent. Blades is definitely the way to smoke either to get full effects.
