Howdy all. Although not my first grow, this will be my first grow journal. This grow will be approx 12 Buddah White Dwarf Fems from Dr. Chronic growing in Fox Farms Ocean Forest with perlite added in with some extra worm casings and bat guano. Nutrients are a five part series from BioBizz. These include BioGrow, BioBloom, Alg-a-Mic, TopMax, and FishMix. These are good, low-power organic nutes that are good for soil. I have used them on my last 2 grows with GREAT success. I only use them at half the recommended dosages. This will be my first attempt at autoflowering plants. Any and all advice and comments are welcome. I am going to start them on a MH 18/6 schedule at first, then move to a HPS 12/12 schedule when I get a warm and fuzzy about how they are working. If anyone else has a better recommendation, I would greatly appreciate it. As of this moment, 3 of my seeds have sprouted. I have a new ballast and bulbs, but everything else is my regular old stuff. I AM FORTUNATE TO HAVE A WIDE SELECTION OF GROW STORES WHERE I LIVE AND ALL HAVE KNOWLEDGABLE STAFF WHO HAVE HELPED ME AS MUCH AS THIS FORUM. I BUY VERY LITTLE FROM ONLINE STORES. SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL GROW SHOP IF YOU HAVE ONE!!!!!!!!!!! My setup includes the following:

WARNING!!! I HAVE INSTALLED A 30 AMP BREAKER THAT IS DEDICATED TO THIS ROOM'S OUTLETS. IF YOU INTEND TO RUN A SETUP SIMILAR TO THIS, YOU SHOULD INSTALL, OR HAVE AN ELECTRICIAN INSTALL, A 30 AMP BREAKER TO RUN THE LOAD. A 30AMP BREAKER COSTS ABOUT 2 DOLLARS AND TAKES ABOUT 10 MINUTES TO SWAP OUT. BE SURE TO DISCONNECT MAIN POWER BEFORE DOING ANY WORK ON THE PANEL!!!

1.) Secret Jardin DR80 grow room

2.) 1 400W Sunlight Supply Sun System Harvest Pro Switchable Ballast

3.) 400W EYE Hortilux MH and HPS Bulbs

4.) Sunlight Supply Yieldmaster Enclosure with glass pane and 4" duct flanges.

5.) 4" Centrifugal Blower, rated at 400 CFM, attached to an Active Air carbon Filter

6.) 6" Suncourt Inline Duct Fan, rated at about 250 CFM?, attached to a Elf carbon filter

7.) seven day electronic timers from Lowes

8.) various testing equipment.

9) little ass tower fan for circ.

I will take pictures of the room tonight and get them posted up. I'm interested to see if they really will be ready in 8 weeks like they claim. Hope you guys enjoy my journal.:blsmoke:

Sorry I didn't get pics posted. There's an ill member off my family and I had to return to my hometown for a few days. Big props to my wife for taking care of the seedlings while I was gone, even though she wants no part of it.
kiss-ass

I'll post up some pics now. Tell me what you think.

be carefull on the nutes. i dont like the water testers, not to accurate. i like to test the weight of the pots dry, at first transplanting. then give a watering getting a bit of run off, thentest weight again. then let completely dry up almost to the point of wilting then repeat watering, like i said in pm these dont need to much for nutes, carefull.
get the thermometer at the tops of the plants and get the lightsd as low as you can and stay below around 85 deg

yeah, I'm not too sure about the moisture meter. This is the first time I've used it and it's a little sketchy. I've always done about what you have, just went off of weight. It's always worked for me that way. Temp isn't an issue, if you look at my first set of pics, you'll notice that the ducting goes through the roof. My fan and filter are in the attic. Temps inside the room rarely get above 75F. I'll take your advice and go easy on the nutes and lower the light some more. Thanks for the advice.

Thats a kick ass grow set up you got there. where did you pick thoese seeds up they sound sweet, are they a lowryder hybrid? of some sort. sweet!!!

Aloha

i got them from Dr. Chronic. I was looking for an autoflowering strain and I liked the look of those. "Buddah" is the breeder, or brand, i guess. I was looking for a feminized autoflowering variety. I had never heard of them, either, so I figured I would give them a try. At least three have shown hairs as of this afternoon. I'll try and get some pics up tomorrow. Thanks for the comment.

Hi all. It's day 23 and they're filling out nicely. 7 of my girls are showing hairs. The other three are developing something at the top nodes, can't tell what yet. Hopefully, they will have hairs as well in a couple of days. It would be nice to go 10 for 10. I guess they really are "feminized". :hump: Moved the light in a little closer and changed the dark time to be at night. I know you may be asking, "why didn't you do that in the first place?", but I wanted to keep the light off during the hottest hours of the day to keep a consistent cool temp around 77-78 F. However, my Darkroom has earned it's money and it's a little rough for the wear, mainly due to cats going vertical on it. I'm gettin' a little bit of light leak, so now it's dark period is at night. I cropped the pics of the first hairs on a few of the plants so you can see them better. There is also a pic of my duggie, Rocket Dog. Enjoy.

Complete success!!!! I am 10 for 10. All of my plants are female. Guess the extra money for fems was worth it. The three smallest hadn't shown any signs of sex yet, as I mentioned in the last post, so they have actually been on a 16/8 light schedule for the past two days to try and help them along. I just got home from work and checked, and the last three have hairs!!! I also watered yesterday evening with nutes, and got a HUGE growth explosion in the 24 hours since. I'll take some pics after dinner tonight. You can actually tell a big difference. Another observation is that two of my plants have actually split off into two seperate top nodes on their own. I'll get the pics up after dinner. Catcha later.

Looking good. nice setup. I just bought a DR80. Was thinking to go with a 250w but after seeing this I may reconsider for 400w.

If you can cool it, you might as well. Not many more watts, way more light. I think I'm gonna get a 1000w for my winter grow. Just leave the window open, voila, natural ambient cooling.

Lookin' good today. here are the pics i said I was gonna get up last night. If you compare today with my last pics, you'll notice that they fuckin' blew up.
