Yep, wrong island but I've sottish blood in me somewhere so you could say that! Sure it's only across the waters.
romance is in the air? back to topic.

fdd, do you know what kind of "butterflies" that llay those worms? If I find one in the leaves, i just tossed them into the pond, and the mosquito fish gulps them down like candy, and the mosquito fishies make BIG babies :)

oooh, thanks for the cool link :)

mmmm i cant wait, when i smelled my fingers after i pulled the bud apart to get the worm out they were all sticky it smelt like a sweet citrus . is this normally how blueberry smells? not that im concerned i love the smell of it, on friday they smelt like coffee freshly roasted beans.

the catapillars have been chewing alot buds off this one smaller plant 2 diffrent kinds the standard bright green ones that are also raveging my tomatoes, and a smaller mostly brown one that likes to burrow into the stem and kills the hole bud above the eatten zone. I have been cutting or pulling these sections off so they don't go to mold, well i ran out off early trimmings the other day and the bits were dry so i rolled them up and smoked them. I was a little hesitant at first but it was just as stoney and had no ill taste or after afect, who knew you coould smoke catapillar poo.

i just found another one. once again it seems the Bt is working. i can't find the actual caterpillar but i find the damage. i clipped it off and was digging thru it to find the worm when a single seed popped out. nice. i pollinated another plant and it looks like a little pollen got blown around. new mystery seed for next year.

That Bt stuff is Ok to spray on your buds?...

I had never even heard of "bud worms" before (having mostly grown indoors.) Are they all over the US? I am in Oregon and have one plant outdoors. Guess that gives me one more thing to worry about.

(btw post #1 here, hello all.)

i would assume anywhere that has outdoor moths.

Bt can be used on vegetables up to the day of harvest. i stop spraying at least 10 days prior to harvest.

hello and welcome.
