Bud Pics.. Something wrong?

here are a picture of my buds. I started using a UFO and just switched to a 400 W HPS a week ago. What a huge difference the HPS has made. I wish I had used that from the start. Do these buds look like they are having any problems? anything I should do to make them thicken up I am already using molassis. This is my 7th week of flowering.

yes, i do. look at trichome color not pistil color to determine harvest.
what is the difference between trichome and pistols? the hairs on one of them are moslty orange. If i have already been flowering them for 6 weeks is that even possible for them to need another 6-8 week? I am very confused. THANKS FOR THE HELP!!!

Here's what I see:

1. Tinfoil being used as a reflective material and most likely creating hot spots in your garden. What's the temperature in there.

2. Tin foil in the tops of your containers is preventing the roots from breathing. Plant roots need oxygen! You're suffocating the roots.

Lose the tine foil and I guarantee your plants will bounce back within a week. :peace:

ok I will take the tin foil down. the room is 79 degrees. with a 50% humidity. They are being grown in a ebb and grow system but the system is messed up so I have them in straight hydroten right now in the hydro pots. So the only time the top of the roots actually get waterd is when the water goes down them. Should i tranfer them to soil or would that mess things up?

1st post with new handle (security purposes).... Although tin foil is not optimal, unless of course you want to prevent the reptilians from reading your mind. My best guess for the "problem" with your buds is that they have been flowered for 7 weeks under very low intensity light. Plants respond and adapt to the conditions you provide. Flowering with the UFO probably kept your temps down nicely, but the leaves that grew during this time are acclimated to low temps and low intensity light. The buds are obviously adapted to low light conditions. Now you've put in 400W of HID in place of about 90W of LED! I don't think adding an HPS 2/3 - 3/4 of the way through flowering is a good idea. These plants are never going to reach their full potential regardless of how long you let them sit under the 400W HPS. These plants were told how big to get weeks ago. I don't think they are going to change their minds at this point.

Plenty of us veg under low intensity lights, usually flouros. The smart ones veg for 5 - 10 days under "bloom wattage" or HID just before switching to 12/12. There is nothing "wrong" with your buds per se, but next time if you don't veg for last 5 days of veg under your HPS; at least bloom under it the whole time. You will notice a marked difference in the buds at the same flowering time. I'm sorry you were lied to about the current effectiveness of LEDs for flowering. I think we can all see that they just aren't there yet. For blooming HPS is the standard right now.

Heck I kinda wish you would put the UFO back up, let them finish (if they will), and post a tongue in cheek pictures of your LED harvest. Of course I'd be starting / planning/ researching for your next grow which will put this one to shame I promise you. There is a wealth of knowledge on this forum. Use it........peace PDC

You are going to really like the difference that HPS will make. You should invest some time in reading the tons of info out there.

friend if you are growing an indica then you will be better off scrapping the harvest and with your hps revert you girls, take clones then start afresh.

if you are doin a sativa then lose the foil and put up some mylar and bathe those babies in as much light as you can get your sticky green mits on!

what nutes are you using?

how so? his plant will fill out under the hps nicely now.......why not harvest-reveg-clone? or take some clones right now http://www.420magazine.com/forums/seeds-clones-strains/56864-what-flowering-clone.html
well if hes been flowering an indica for 6weeks the plant will be right near the end of its cycle.
so to get more and better quality clones reverting the plant would be the best course of action IMO anyway.

they look like sativas to me......but they could be badly stretched indica i guess
Two of them are big bud two are easy rider and 2 are random. Is it to late to cut clones? They seam to really be liking this HPS. I am going to take the foil of them and see if that helps. I will post more pictures in a few days. any other suggestions to help me increase yield? how much longer do they have? The nutes that I am using are BC BOOST, BC BLOOM, magical, and thrive alive, along with 2 tablespoons molassis.

well from experience nof 3 grows with big bud they dont have enough time left to make big differences to what you get, even with a hps.

if you want some good shit to smoke clone now or for better quality clones give those big bud ladies a month in veg and the take as many clones as you can and basically start again but thats just my 10pence worth!

i really hope you do ok cos i had the exact same problem when i started and i did this and ended up with one of the best harvests i had in the early years.

EDIT: if you need some close support add me and i will help you through.000

cannabis plants grow according to enviromental conditions (except autoflower of course) not how long its been alive....if its still getting light itwill bud till the buds are finished even if it takes it longer than normal due to a slower growrth rate. it wont automatically die on you just cuz its over a certain age.....
