Lack of light, genetics, too low or too high VPD. ... the list can go on and on. But, I would say genetics play the biggest part. I've grown 100's of pheno's, and some plants from the the same seed pack can grow very differently.
Yep. I've had plants from the same seeds/strain with the same conditions in tent (the tent being small, so that only 4 plants would fit) and having even lighting and the same feeding/watering schedule & amounts...and had one with fluffy buds the rest with completely solid normal ones.

Yep!... this is why pheno hunting is rewarding.... kind of a pain in the ass to clone every one to see how the mother turns out, but once you find that winner... keep it! I've had same strain, different mothers that were side by side, and clones from "mother 10" thrived, while clones from the same strain but "mother 5" died on the vine. Same environment, same nutes, light, etc.
