Bud burn

Gday fellow herb heads

Ive got an MK Ultra + 2 Blue Cheese under 192 watts of CFL. Thats 4 x 48 watt bulbs. They are big & do emit a hit of heat, not HID-like heat but your fingers start to burn after a minute if you touch them. They are hung vertically in between the plants to maximimize penetration. I discovered last night that the main cola on the MK looked a little crisp on one side with the small leaves crisp(snapped em off and smoked those sticky fuckers) but the pistols remained OK thank God. The cola would be about an inch away from the lights & i have intake fans in the cabinet. One of the Blue Cheeses also got singed about two weeks back but it was very minor. I removed all excess fan leaves or clipped them bud to get more light on the buds.So my question is can CFLs give off enough radiant heat even if an inch or two away from plant material to dry rather than burn the crop? Refer to my Album for the size & layout of the cabinet & CFLs. Your help/advice is always appreciated Downunder.

You're supposed to keep the fan leaves on man, but they look good.
I keep my CFL's like 2-3 inches away, because one day I checked on them and one had grown into the light and was burnt to a crisp... Don't want that to happen again.
Clipping the fan leaves to get light to the buds doesn't make sense to me, the leaves take in the energy to help grow the buds as far as I know

There be plenty of leaf on them still. It's tucked up around the central FIMMd branches. Thanks for yr input though. There are other ways to feed the plant without heaps of leaves. Ive tried growing with heaps of skake & i personally find it inhibbiting to the buds. Each to their own. The blue cheesec I do care a fuck for as they have not impressed me much so I gave 'em a major haircut. Cheese IMO is a waste of time & just good marketing. Average to shite plants in my expetienve. The POMS ( that means Brits to Yanks)can keep it.

Maaaan you musta got a bad bean or something, the last 4 blue cheeses I grew smelt/looked amazing. Although the last 3 didn't get to finish, I loved them. The one that did finish was just insanely tasty and nice smelling.
I also tuck the fan leaves outa the way, seems less extreme then cutting it off :D

It can and will happen lol.

I use the big ass 250Watt CFLs. I keep a fan on them 24/7.....

If plant passes 3-4inch distance, they will start to curl and go crispy - managable depending on out door temps (Grow in a shed, very cold room to keep temp down in box)

Though, if they get 2 inches distance, they will burn.
