Bud Blood, does it prevent from stretching?

I was under the assumption that bud blood just helped your plants begin budding that much faster by basically telling them it's time to flower.

The other day at the hydro store I was asking what the DM Bushmaster was all about and he said for keeping plants stout, and said kinda like what bud blood does.

Is this really true? I mean it makes sense I guess that if it makes plants begin budding sooner they're going to focus on budding instead of growing taller?

Any information on this would be great.

Thanks!

i use it allthe time and never heard that. stretching is from lights being to high so the plant is reaching for it.

its possible, but if you want to keep your plants stout, use blue spectrum throughout the entire process, or look into LST or supercropping. Fluoros are the best for stout compact plants with no maintenance.

i dont know.... i use it, does make sense though from my clone results with and without, the without was 8 inches taller and almost out of control and the ones i do use it with are the proper height for my box... call the 1-800# on the package

I'm not talking stretching from lights being too high, I have height under control at 20". They still have a natural upward growth to them, and that's what I'm questioning is if that growth will be stunted because of the bud blood.

I don't really need them to be stout as height is not an issue in my hydro system with 8' ceilings, I was mainly just curious as it doesn't say anything about that on the site.

Thanks!

the stretching is caused by 2 factors...

1) darkness which makes the plant stretch to find light

2) veg hormones that are still present in the plant during the transistion from veg hormones to flowering hormones

even if the bud blood speeds the onset of flowering, there are still going to be veg hormones present.. at least for a while... i wouldnt be worried about stunted growth because of that... they still have to switch over hormones even if the bud blood jump starts the production of flowering hormones... they will still have plenty of growth to during during the first couple weeks of flowering just as any other plant does.. i would be willing to bet that it will limit the growth a little due to the fact it does jump start flowering hormone production.. but i wouldnt think it is enough to not use the product...

hope this helps.. good luck
