i like the plan for the outdoor. And yeah, we have spring fever here as well. Cleaned the deck and everything... mind you that was no small task with all the crap I've been puting outside. Filled up the jeep with just, all the way to the roof, haha. Even started doing outside chores. It's great when it's not freezing outside. Even spotted some new growth on the vines outside... they think it's spring too.

got my light bill yesterday and it was 150 more than what it usually is from trying to heat this drafty old mobile home. when we bought this property and house we knew one day we would be building an energy efficient home and the time is getting close. this is how bad it is. my daughters' brick house is a little bit bigger and her light bill was $127, my grandkids don't know how to turn off a light and my son in law runs a small engine repair shop out of his garage, mine was was over $450. you can hold your hand on the ceiling and feel the cold coming thru. i'm just bitching and venting. at least it's in the 70's today but they are calling for shit weather next week. we've almost got all our school loans paid off and this thing is going into a dumpster unless i can give it away on craigslist.

well i went down to home depot and bought a case of spray foam and a roll of plastic. if you drive by my place, you know some ghetto mother fuckers are in that place but i'm nice and toasty and my heater not working nearly as hard. forgot to turn the heater on in the grow room and the temps got down to 35 and water temps dropped down to 52 but it doesn't look like it bothered her at all. yesterday it was 70 degrees, today it's 20. the buds are getting juicy fat.

it got down to 24 degrees where i keep a few dirt plants, they are drooping bad but starting to perk back up now that the temps are slowing climbing back up. i'm going to bring them inside the house tonight, i can already hear my wife bitching about the smell but she's not that loud and her attention span isn't very long. inside the closet it got down to 59 degrees and the water low was 63 and the plant is oozing a smell that just sticks on you. this is some brutal weather we are having here in texas.

the temps got to far down and i lost 1 plant and 3 others are in such bad shape that after i trimmed all the frost rot off them i'm thinking they might be heading to the compost pile. i'll keep them as long as i have room. 4 of them were spared, just got the tips of a couple of the larger fan leaves. i'll just have to veg them a little longer to make up for the others.

i've been playing around with cloning for awhile now and it's been taking 2 to 3 weeks for the roots to start showing and it's hit or miss if they even make it. well i was down at the grow shop the other day and i got an idea for a simple diy bubble cloner. i'll post some pics if it pans out.

i'm just a week or 2 away from harvest. it was 8 weeks on the 20th. the top buds are so compact and all the trichomes are milky or just starting to get amber. i'm looking for 100% amber before chopping. i'll try to get some pics up later.

the harvest was smaller than what i was expecting, so many smaller buds than what you get when you let the plant grow naturely. i bet the biggest bud i got might be 7 grams...most of them not even a gram. on the up side, these buds are compact and look so good. just looking at them you know it's going to be some great smoke. another thing was the knowledge i picked up growing in water that i can take back to the dirt, i learned a lot.

did you harvest? was it what you hoped for?

hey bro - been checking out your grow - pretty interesting. wanted you to check out the tds meter i have - at half the price of what you're getting - and checks temp.

Also wanted to just say I used to use the micro sprayers and all that, but then changed to DWC - all i have to check on is air pumps & stones. use alot less juice just running air pumps. the water stays cooler also - water pumps really tend to heat it up. my grow is so automatic now i hardly have to check it. i'm using general hydroponics flora grow, micro, bloom, (& liquid kool bloom for flowering - just started using this) also i'm using 20 gal tubs (have a 40 gal for when i travel) i will post some pics of my set up. i have 2 - 5" air stones in each tub - 1 for flowering and one for veg. i use 5 gal buckets for cloning and have a 4" stone in it. thats it - pretty simple. but - i have no co2 either!! :( simplicity is key for me
congrats on your setup and grow - i'll be following your progress.
take care
