Bubbleponic cloner stem submersion

Last batch of clones I did there was a cutting that never got submerged in the water at all but it still rooted at the same rate, if not faster then some.

This batch I have noticed root growing in the neoprene collar before anywhere else on the stem.

So whats the deal with this? I kept reading to keep stems submerged up to an inch.

If you are looking for confirmation then YES; most people have great results with the stem submerged, but if you are getting better results letting them hang then keep with it. There is no one method and certainly no one type of plant which works better than others, many environmental factors play into rooting time.

If you can duplicate those factors successfully on each batch of clones, than your doing quite well regardless of the technique used.
