bubble questions

so i got my 6 plant bubbleponics system in. i just have a few questions. and yes ive read all of roseman threads and tutorials but some of the answers contradict each other. any i apprieciate any help.


anyway. one of my main concerns is.. im gunna be planting from seed. im not going to be germing it at all. i have rockwool cubes.i will have them completley covered with the small styrofoam plate with the lights off untill they sprout. my question is should i have nutes in my system at this point or should i wait till i drain and add more water?


also.. to soak or not to soak my rockwool cubes. ive read not to. ive read soak them in ph water. ive read wring them out, dont wring them out, just give them a few shakes. which is correct? or works the best?


this being my first hydro grow ill prolly have alot more questions.

First of all, you don't need to soak the rockwool cubes, just get them wet and shake out some water until it's moist but not soaked. If you wring them out, they will fall apart. As for the nutrients, read thi post and you will know all you need to know:

You want to adjust the flow to somewhere between a verly slow trickle and a constant drip to give the roots enough water, but not drown them.

There will always be contradicting information man. Everybody has their own personal grow style that works for them. I heard the ph of rockwool is bad for seeds and can stunt if not kill your seedling if not soaked in ph balanced water for 24 hours. This method worms for me but other people don't soak and end up with happy plants as well. Just breathe easy bro and let the plant tell you what she needs.

I started 6 seeds right in the rockwool with a steady drip and they all popped within 2 days !! I did nothing to the seeds or rockwool forst... Wait at least 2 wks till you start adding nutes or at least till the first set of real leaves appear...
