My plants are in 1st week of flower, still on Veg nutes (GH flora 3 part series, 3-2-1 ratio, always mixing micro in first, and also using diamond nector) They are in DWC (bubblers) each in a 5 gal bucket. 6 plants (Querkle) under a 600w HPS.

about a week and a half ago my leaves starting getting brown spots, they are spreading on bottom middle and top leaves, the brown spreads until the leave dies.

My PPM is at 1000 on all buckets. My PH has been tested daily and always Kept right at 5.8. My vent is a crappy little fan, with a home made filter, it doesnt pull a ton of air but it keeps the smell 99% down.

I heave heard it could be a Mg defficiency, i bought cal-mag and will be giving them that at 1/2 strength when I'm finished typing this. Anyone have ANY ideas? Thanks and HAPPY 420!!!:leaf::leaf::leaf::leaf::leaf::bigjoint::leaf::leaf:

You are in the first stages of nutrient lock out. You need to flush and if you can use floral shield. Are you monitoring ppm and ph daily?

I was checking my PPM daily before the nute change, but havnt in 2 days. before it was steady going down, about 50 or so PPM perday after water topped off

what ratio was the water to ppm drop going? was the ppm drop equal to the water level drop and di the ph flux

Looks to me like a ph flucktuation, some look lke nutrient burns but i would take all the damaged leaves off and flush them till the water runs clear.it could also be a salt build up but i would flush and leave on water till thing improve a few days you should see a differance.

I never considered removing any leaves, this problem is affecting a lot of them, are you sure this is necessary? And I already swapped two buckets out with RO water to flush, will get the other 4 when I get home. Should I switch to flower nutes after they are flushed? Or should I do a 50/50 veg flower ratio??There are no buds yet what so ever so Im not sure if bloom nutes are required yet.
ALSO, since these nutes(the ones currently in my buckets) are like a day old, can I re use them after flush? I know this is usualy advised against. But these nutes arent cheap and Im getting low, and they have only been in there a day.

thanks for the info FF, any way you could answer my questions?

While waiting for the root system to fix up you can foliar feed them epsom salt dissolved in warm water. The faq has the info and ratios.

-This can be quickly resolved by watering with 1 tablespoon Epsom salts/gallon of water. Until you can correct nutrient lockout, try foliar feeding. That way the plants get all the nitrogen and Mg they need. The plants can be foliar feed at ½ teaspoon/quart of Epsom salts (first powdered and dissolved in some hot water). -

Was dealing with this yesterday and today and already got results like 5 hours after I foliar fed them.

can I foliar feed with the nutes I am using, but a weaker solution?

I honestly don't know, I mean, it doesn't seem like there would be an issue if you can foliar feed with those nutes normally and it contains the mg the plant needs. Better to wait for someone who knows for sure to answer though.

Thanks, I appropriate the help.

Removing the leaves isn't going to help anything, in fact it would be detrimental seeing as the leaves can repair themselves all but the necrotic areas.

I am wondering if I can use the same nutes I have now after flush, they are only a day old. I am thinking since I already dumped two buckets and replaced with RO water, I will empty those buckets now that they have flushed for a day, and fill them with the Nutes from two other buckets, then replace the nutes from those buckets with RO water till tomorrow then do the same thing. Would this be okay? I really dont wanna dump all these nutes and waste em

Edit: Would also like to ad, I just checked my PPM on the 4 buckets that still have nutes, all 4 buckets have Stayed the exact same PPM after topped off, one even has a higher PPM. Is it safe to say that this is another symptom of nute lock out? (the plant obviously hasnt taken any of the nutes in, but took tons of water)

Me persoanlly I am against foliage feedings but I do mist on ocassion with nitrozyme ( which you may want to use in this situation) and I will mist with a mixture of Penetrator and liquid light. I only mist a few minutes befor lights go out thought to prevent burns

In soil you do basic same procedure. Flush the pots real heavy with ph balanced water with floral clean. If no floral clean try basic water. Fllod the pots real good catch the run off and keep checking the run off ph each flush. Flush maybe 3 good floods then allow the plant to dry out for couple days and if no improvement show repeat. No nutes til soil dries back out.If in veg stage give a 1/4 dose bloom nutes with half dose veg for first feeding
