Hey guys,

My lumii black metal magnetic ballast has stop working :(

It says its capable - 250hps - 1000hps im running a 600hps

I opened her up to ses if there was anything burnt but nothing wiring looks ok will have a closer look tomorrow.

So when I plug it in nothing happens no sound no heat. The plug sparked last time i plugged it in :(

This is a cheap ballast that came with my tent

Is there a cheap fix? i cant afford another at the moment. And im 2 weeks into flower :(

Should be a fuse on or near the power supply, might be capped by a removable plasting housing.

Its possible you might have a bad ballast, faulty or weak electrical, faulty bulb or output cable.

Not easy to blow a 10a fuse, so double check everything.

Are you plugging it into a power strip that has its breaker flipped or is your circuit connected to gfi?

If my bathroom cgfi flips it effects more than my bathroom.

So there are two power strips coming from the same twin socket each with a ballast.
I just switched the fuses in the plugs to check.
Heard a slight popping sound from the bad one but nothing happend. S
Switched it back to the good one and got a wee spark from the power strip. but the light went on as normal.

Will send photos of the inside of the ballast when i get home.

I'm thinking my next step is to find the fuse inside the ballast?

No.

You did this to yourself by not knowing.... well, anything.

1) If its a 1000w ballast, run a 1000w bulb, and nothing else. You do not run a 600w bulb on a 1000w ballast and just "turn it down" Thats not how a dimmer works.

2) Lights on a separate power feed. On a separate breaker entirely... especially from fans/pumps, etc.

3) ALL always-on electronics make that spark-pop at the plug when you plug it in, try it with desk lamp or laptop charger.

Why do people insist on growing first, then learning how grow equipment works after the failures start?
