bringing clones outside

Hello I live in SoCal and was wondering if I could put some clones that I'd harden off in my closet for 5 weeks outside around mid March? I'm concerned that they will go into flowering cause it wont be quite yet be 16 hours of light outside. My question is can I prevent them from going into flower if i harden them off properly reguardless of the light schedule which would be about 14 hours light and increasing.

anything would help and i would very much appreciate it.

Hardening off is the process of taking them indoors to outdoors. Your plants are not hardened off if they are in your closet.

To harden off a plant, put them in the shade on a nice day for a few hours, then bring them back indoors. Do this for a couple of days, lengthening the amount of time until they no longer wilt and you can start to expose them to full sun, a little at a time, until they can handle it.

Also, your plants may start to flower, but you are putting them out around the time of the vernal equinox (March 20th this year), the daylight length will continue to grow until the summer solstice on June 21st, which is the longest day of the year. After that, the days will start to grow shorter.
