Bricks in my buckets?

I noticed that a lot of my nutrient solution early in veg and flower is wasted. I grow in individual buckets and was thinking that adding bricks in the water wouldn't require me to use as much nutrient solution. As bricks cost like $.25 each I could see this as saving quite a bit on nutrients.

My question is will that cause any problems I am not thinking of? Does anyone think that the bricks could react to the nutrient solution is some way that I am not aware of?

Any thoughts you have on this idea would be a great help!

I think that's a bad idea because who knows what chemicals can leach out of the bricks. How big are your buckets and how big will the plants be? A 3 ft plant should have at least 2 gal of water and a bigger plant more still.

I am pretty sure that bricks are just dried clay?

I am just talking about doing this during veg and the first 2 weeks of flower when the plants are hardly using any of the water nutrient mix.
