breeding ruderalis question

I'm thinking that I'll have to breed ruderalis strains to sustain grows. SO.. since I'm indoors, if I let all of my plants grow and pollinate to harvest the seeds, Will I have pollination problems with my next crop in there? Do I just need to spray out?

I'm thinking of a Growlab60 / 250W HPS for this. Just concerned that I'll have to breed in one tent and do normal grows in another tent.

Also.. can I keep my males? Re-veg? Will they even die, since I won't harvest them? Sorry for noob-ish questions here, but I couldn't find help in the forum search or noob forum.

+Rep for intelligent answers.

How about just put the plant in another tent or closet, harvest LOADS of pollen from one male alone in that closet or tent, then remove it from teh equation and hand-pollinate it for yourself? This way you can at least have a chance of controlling how many seeds you get and you don't lose your entire crop weight to seed.

Gotta be careful. It takes multiple sprayings and cleanings to get a closet truly free of pollen.

AFAIK you can't reveg Ruderalis, they autoflower and there's no going back once they do. You can't clone from them either, or at least I've never seen it done.

I had read in forums somewhere that re-vegging was maybe possible, but a bad idea, as you'd be losing valuable bud from a low yielder. Since I'm talking about re-vegging a male, though. I should try to collect pollen from an outdoors guy or something.

Thanks. Repped. :)

That is correct. Ruderalis were crossed with other potent strains to create autoflowering crosses/strains. They are 'time release' plants and will not live on and on.

Personally, I would collect the pollen from a strong and healthy looking male, indoor or outdoors. Keep it separate, and harvest pollen. Ruderalis flowers depending upon age. You will have almost zero chance of revegging it, so just grow it large and harvest the pollen. You will have enough pollen for many generations of breeding if you store it properly.

Also, any time you visit the male, go shower before visiting your girls, and change clothes. Pollen sticks and carries like white on rice. You don't want accidental contamination if you can help it.

You don’t lose bud by revegging. All you do is leave a small lower portion of the plant when you harvest and at the most there would be popcorn that low and you can still trim off any bud since that is not needed to reveg.
