Break Down

This is not to start any drama just my break down to show some oregonions it does not cost alot to grow more then enough quality meds. you dont need all that fancy stuff or buy into all the nutrient companies shit.
I believe the only part that is a bit spendy is start up fee for indoors, out doors is much simpler, but this is for indoor growing. if any one feels anything should be added that is a necessity get hen starting up then please add the name and price.
so lets list stuff for a meds patient who is only growing for them selves.

600 watt HPS grow light, digital ballast, light socket, reflector and light bulb. $200.

panda black film ( also light proof so good to use to build a small grow room if needed) 10 bucks for 10 x 10 ft.

6 veg pots $1.25 6 flower pots 3 gal 6 bucks. all are re usable as well.

soil 10-14 bucks a bag of any black gold soil, or 5 bucks for a big bag of garden and bloom soil, both are organic and a good soil, soil is also reusable.

perlite. 5 bucks for a medium bag, if needed. black gold soils and garden and bloom dont really need perlite added.

nutes / well if your going organic then you can make your own compost and use it, horse, cow, chicken shits ect. can all be found for free if you look around, alot of people just want that stuff gone. all these are free and can make for a nice harvest. although if just starting out growing, i would go with a chem fert to begin with. i recommend flora nova grow and bloom. it is a 2 part nute, it is easy to use, ph stable and has all of what you need in 2 bottles. each bottle for a litter is 24.99, and it should last for at least 5-6 grows. now if you want to go organic nutes from the store i would use earth juice grow, micro blast and bloom, theri is more to theri line up but it is mostly sugars and carbs and are not really needed just like most nute companies . each bottle is about 15 bucks so 45 for them all.

a few small house fans ( most people have them already) is all you need to cool the plants and the light. a inline fan is not a necessarily. i kept a small room cool enough for plants with a few house fans and it was much much less money to run them all day. inline fans are spendy and draw alot of energy.
if you do get an inline fan a 4 inch inline fan on average is 120 plus 20 bucks a month xtra to run.

veg light / i use a 200 watt cfl, i bought new for 79.99. a 200 watt is not needed buy every one though, the 100 watts work just fine for veg and can be bought at wal mart for like 20 bucks for 4 of them.

seeds/ clones / this depends on who you are, where you live and who you know. i can get seeds locally for free and some cost between 1-5 dollars a piece. clones can be any where from free to 15 bucks a piece. i have not and wont ever order seeds on line as the price is just ridiculous. so all in all you might spend 90 bucks on clones but most likely you wont have to spend that much.

every thing else in growing is really not a necessity to grow alot of dank meds.

the cost for me to run my 600 watt light on 12/12 was about 40 bucks a month, i didnt notice the fans increasing electricity.

also my last real grow i did under my 600 ( and it was only my 3rd grow) i harvested about a half ounce shy of half a pound off 2 plants, and IMO the buds were very very good. if i kept going i was going to be able to harvest that (and most likely more cuz i would have kept learning and making the grow better and better) every 60 days witch is much more then enough for me to smoke that fast and i smoke alot.

so the final price for the setup is 447.49 on the high side of things. plus 40 a month in electricity.

so this being said it only cost a fair amount of money in the beginning after that it is cheap to grow, and if you charge for your meds ( witch most growers do) then you should make your money back plus alot more in the 1st grow easy. if its all for your self well your still saving money every month by not having to buy meds that are over priced.

i never said indoors can be done for free, ive always stated that the only costly part is start up.
im sure some of the items listed can be found cheaper then what i get them for as well.
any who add to the list if you like people.

Here, here! I feel you. People get so intimidated by growing. I was too. I didn't understand the demand these High tech gardens have. Now I'm constructing one. I started with 2X 4 foot 8 lamp fluorescent fixtures in a closet with wall fans and hand watered soil.

Now I'm spending $5 a cubic foot to really pump it out!
