Brainstorm & NL #5 x Haze Grow!

Well, I can't believe my luck! My largest nl#5 x haze plant grew some white hairs overnight. That makes two nl#5 x haze females and the other nl#5 x haze #2 plant is not showing its sex yet, maybe tomorrow.

The Brainstorm buds are plumpin up nicely and nice growth on the stem that i did the supercropping on, so i'm happy.

Heat and humidity are still high and i'm trying to find something to resolve this.

Thanks for checking out the grow! :peace:

No problem Bee, good to be listened too. For real :)

Sorry I could not get back earlier but I was distracted with the heat. It is so bad I am burning through the air! c'est la vie, hehe.

That is a great deal. Yes I recommend getting that fan and charcoal deal. Your life will be 100 times easier!

Down side, there will be some noise. However, I fixed mine with a six inch fan so we can work around that. I used the box my fan came in. I filled it with rags and old clothes and put the fan inside. Then I cut two holes, one for the intake and one for the outtake, of the fan. I duct taped the whole thing shut. It muffles it quietly and easily. I then put the whole box on the roof of the tent and it sits. The best I saw was with a plywood box. Sealed, quiet.

About the ducts. What you want to do is get two six to four inch reducers. They are in the HVAC area of lowes or Home Depot. They are about six bucks each. Put them on each end of your fan. You are going to want to stick to six inch pipe as the bigger the ducting the better. Less hassle to the airflow. Plus you already have that. ;)

That is great about your plants. I love how fast the growth pics up now. It is like they are going to finish the next night. Lol, but now we all learn patience. ahhh.

:) good luck. If the money is their for the fan and charcoal then awesome. You will need something. If not then there are other solutions.

First would be to see how much heat you keep out by running one separate circuit for the light. Then you might just need the charcoal filter and another little fan. That might or might not work. Regardless for a 400 I am sure the inline and filter combo is the best way to go. Look at it like an investment, and the close 400 now a few inches safely from the plants will mean a big difference.

the more I think about it I got to ask again :) if you can at all try to make a sperate circuit for ayour light go ahead. It may simpler and with a 4 inch inline and a 400 in the cooler temps you got you would most likely be ok.

But if you can put that light on it's own "circuit" the that is the best. I myself dont right now. But I have some annoying tents that I am replacing right now with HTG tents that have the regualar flange ducts. I will run my eight in fan and my 600 on it's own circuit. I mean one end is above the tent. Then the duct hits the light and then leaves the tent and I blow air right out side that has no smell as it was never in the tent. That will be 100 times more efficient as I am pulling cool air over it. The only thng is I need four ducts. Two for the light and one for the intake and one for the outake and a duct booster and inline. I hope all this works I still run it on your style. Either way, have fun. This is a hell of a hobby.

well, it looks like my leaves burning a lot now so i'm going to have to figure something out quick. may have to rush over to my nearest hyrdro store for stronger inline fan.

still no sign on sex in nl plant #2, but in a way, if its a male, it won't be so crowded in the tent.

i'd post pictures but the plants are sleeping right now.

Sorry if I skipped over this, but did you look on HTGsupply? Their prices are usually very competitive.
Everything looks awesome, I'm sure your yield will be great with that 400W. :hump:

burning? Remember that burned leaves is what we call over fertilizing! REMEMBER! rofl. jk. How leaves will curl up usually at the edges. Sometimes down. over 82 I see probs.

Fert burn is browning tips, usually.

I hope hydro store isn't robbing you blind. lol. Craigs list or eBAy has some better deals I bet.

night.

oh, thank you, i've been making a more educated attempt lately. i gave the plants a recent burn, so that will probably affect them, unfortunately

practice, practice, practice - need more of it, i think... oh well ttyl

Well, I came home yesterday and found my funny nl plant drooping big time. I watered, and it is fine today, so I'm relieved.

I discovered nl plant #2 is a female too, can't believe it, will have a very full growtent, but thats okay.

I'm charging the battery for my camera now. I want to show you all the buds on my Brainstorm plant, nice.

Pics a little later. ttyl:peace:

hey tea tree, glad to see you're checking in. you've been a lot of help and i now know what i need to do. unfortunately money's a little tight right now, so there's not much i can do at the moment... except maybe another fan, will have to see.

my nl runt plant #3 is really stretching, like you said and its in a small pot, but i heard its not good to transplant during flowering, so i guess i'll leave it for now.

happy growing, hope all is well, ttyl

Just thought I'd drop a line. I've been a little worried about leaving the tent open during the day due to the smell, so I kept it closed today that was much better with the smell, just too hot. Gonna shop for a new fan soon. Today is week 4 of 12/12, so the buds are really forming quickly, especially on the Brainstorm plant. Hope I can harvest in another four weeks, that'd be nice, we'll see.

I'll try to post some updated photos over the weekend. til then, you all take care and thanks for checking in.

Are you folks all ready for my big update? Things are really getting me excited now! Except for the battle of the heat and odor. I've been keeping the tent closed during the day and they're no worse for the wear, so I feel better. NL plants #1 and #2 aren't doing as well, they're a little behind. The light isn't as intense over #2, so may supplement it with a cfl or two, we'll see. Of course, the prize plant is the Brainstorm, which is having impressive growth of buds, I'm happy to report. Check them out, enjoy and if anyone would like to say hello, feel free. Have a nice night, ttyl.:peace:

*bump* for great justice!

So much more bud production so soon.... wow! Doesn't this heat just suck though?! Our poor plants, and poor us! Looks like they're keeping their chins up though! :hump:

Nice! Keep it up. I have an idea. Try looking on craigs list in these weeks every day. I am sure that one day you will see a fan for 50 or so dollars. Try an get an inline over a squirrel cage. Less hassle for ya!

Nice to hear from everyone, thanks for the kind words. The heat is increasing and my bank accounts are quickly decreasing, Unfortunately my girls are gonna have to be hot. I'm not happy about this, but i've learned a lot and it'll be cooler during my next grow, so i know i'll do better. I've got some white russian seeds i'm going to start germinating soon. Just researching some alternate methods of germinating and vegging before I decide whether or not I'll stay with the way I've been doing it (paper towel).

I also considered trying a topsy turvy like Dr. Greenhorn, saw them today on sale for $7, but i'm just wondering how that would work in the growtent. You have to add your own soil. Sounds like it may be interesting.

I had to cut some of the tops off the nl plants were stretching so much. I didn't want to in flowering, but they were touching the light and burning.

I'll probably post some updated pics soon. Take care everyone and ttyl. :peace:

nice grow so far, Im battling heat myself but keeping it around 82-84 with a 400w hps and 3 48 T5's. how would you rate the NL #5 x Haze as far as ease to grow, and how tall are they at this point (4 weeks of 12/12?) Im thinking of growing that along with White Russian for my next grow so looks like we have similar tastes! keep up the good work
