Botrytis.... WTF

Soooo I was harvesting a plant tonight (indoor grow). Fuckin smelled awsome! Clippin her large fan leaves and molesting the buds and what do I fucking find? Botrytis! Aka bud rot. I have never fucking gotten this shit before. Most of the main cola, inside where the buds meet the stem. Grrrrrrr..... I have great air circulation, but higher then wanted humidity due the weather we have been having, so i am sure that is what caused it. Gonna have to go buy a dehumidifier.

I have already harvested 2 other plants in the past week and they were fine. I still have 3 more and I just throughly inspected and they are all fine. The infected bitch was LA Woman.

Soooo anyonoe else ever experience this? Can I still make hash out of her at least? Bubble hash? BHO? ISHO? Help me salvage something for all of my hard work!

Sad to say that it is safer to dispose of the bud if its infected . You can sometimes cut around it if is at the early stage when harvested .. Once a whole plant is infected it is garbage , no different than moldy food .. Watch the others closely as its easy to detect in the beginning stages by simply manipulating the colas by hand for an up close inspection . One you know a strain that is particular to it you will be able to forecast the shit and cut well before it can happen ..

Thank u. Yeah i have plenty of smoke, so the 1 plant out of 6 wont hurt my yield much. Figured i should prob just toss out that main cola instead of screwin around with cuttin it out and worrying if i got it all. Just wasnt sure if I could still make "safe" hash with it.

some people do hash it, i forget which kind. but i prefer to just trash mine.
The kind that are stupid ? Lol . I have seen others use charcoal and filter it away but this was out of desperation while making oil for a cancer patient . I have seen others claim to wash it away with peroxide and such . but I too just toss it .

Be careful as well cutting it . The spores are easily spread by doing such and once its airborne its no good for us or our plants .

I started cutting three plants today of Skunk #1 after day #77 of 12/12 and found some nasty ass Botrytis or some other type of mold in one of my colas. It was in the densest plant and luckily only in one small area. Probably just started in the last few days. I cut all that nasty shit out and only lost maybe 5 grams - so I caught a break. I have inspected all the others and haven't found anything else nasty yet. The humidity has been between 40% to 50% so I was surprised to find any. I guess it was the density of the bud itself and the extended flowering time. I am glad I decided to trim wet or else I would not have found it and would have probably lost the entire cola.

Moral of the story - if you don't trim wet, make sure to inspect between the clusters on your colas before you hang dry.

PS - I believe I know what caused the mold - pulling a few fan leaves from that spot and the wound weeped and molded. I'll never do that again.
