Bonsai pot is an interesting Idea especially since some plants retain flower size when bonsaied perhaps someone should try it might be a good way to produce a small amount of good weed and indulge in a relaxing hobby at the same time.

growing them full size is relaxing :)
ive always wanted a bonsai tree, i might have to look into it a bit more. what makes it a bonsai, basically its environment and how you treat it right? Can you really grow them under lights?

000420, nice tree. what type is it? with that tall pot you're set up for a cascade style growth. but if you're gowing tall, that's good too. i like the multiple trunks too.

i have just begun to bonsai a japonese loquat tree. it' not the usual bonsai choise because of it's large leaves but i like the contrast of trunk size to leaf size. i think it has potential. good luck with yours.

they really are unique grows, bonsai. i get so excited to see new growth on these little trees.

Hey 000420, it looks like a cotoneaster to me. I had three of them I was training up a couple of years back, went on holiday, they had all been blown over, pots smashed, roots dried, unsalvagable :(

I've been meaning to give it a try again. I had a lime tree which was a beauty, and it died for no apparent reason sadly. Haven't had one since that.

sorry to here about the loss. Do you really think it's a cotoneaster? I would love to know what this tree is, I'm attaching a better photo of the leaves...also here is some photos since I gave its first pruning since I've taken it home.....I want to buy some moss spores to plant on the top of the soil.I think that would look great.:peace:

Yeah, I think it's some kind of cotoneaster, but i'm not a botanist, just an amateur!
With moss, just go find some living out in the wild, like on a brick wall or something, cut it off, put it on the soil in your pot, and if you keep it moist it should take hold really easily

I love bonsaid cannabis..... not a fan of growing anything but herbs myself anyways.

I have a 6 month old mother which I still don't consider Bonsai'd, but after each haircut, she's usually about 8-10" tall.

seems to me that putting a bonsai under lights would defeat the purpose of the whole zen aspect of it. unless it was a ganja bonsai. even then, it would be fun to keep a weed bonsai out in the open, in your living room or something, if you trained it well enough, everybody would be complementing you on your great looking plant =]
