Bog water?

Tossing down a plant or two this summer and I had a question for you ladies and gents. . . Can I water with bog water? For those of you unfamiliar its spring water thats sitting in a slough of muck.

My plan was to dig a pit near the spring and allow the water to filter through the dirt before scooping it out to water. (Going to put a net over it so animals don't fall in, watering with corpse water is probably detrimental)

If anyone knows, help would be incredible.

Additionally, any troubles with using insulation vermiculite for a soil mix? They say there is less than 1% crystalline silicate otherwise its straight vermiculite. Crystalline silicate is present in everything basically so I can't see it hurting. . . .

If the ph isn't bad I don't see it hurting. I'd probably even use it straight out of the spring unfiltered should provide some good nutrients like compost tea.
