The filled in circle in what would be the top is where i would screw the eyelet hook into. And the hollow circle is where i would drill for cords. You could velcro a patch over it or staplegun old jean denim over it..doesnt matter really..but if light security is an issue..
Thank you for your help - it will take me some time to figure this out... Really appreciate your knowledge.

If you live in a 420 state make sure to get a doctor recommendation. Apartment growing has it's challenges for sure. If you could be arrested or thrown from your complex then think about this carefully. Growing in an apartment is a constant source of stress. You have to consider Light leaks, smell, and heat dispersion not to mention the random maintenance visit.

Height is always your friend. It's common for newbies, like myself to try to grow in a short space. It doesn't work so well. It takes about 5 ft to be on the safe side... Your pot will be a foot tall and you need at least a foot for lights and filter and a foot clearance between light and plant.

For what it's worth, this is my suggestion.
2 x 2 x 5 grow tent. It could cost less than messing around with different boxes and it's light tight. It has all the features you need,
6" fan and phresh carbon filter. I say 6" and not 4" because one day you may want to upgrade to an air cooled hood and most of them have 6" flanges. Vent the heat out the closet door somehow. Trust me when I say that no matter what you try you have to consider where to blow the heat. Even 150w of CFL will heat up a 10x10 bedroom a few degrees. it will heat an unventilated box to well over 100 degrees.

Lights: Take your pick. Either:
250w hps (all in one)
200 watts of assorted CFL
200 watt Mars hydro LED

1 plant in 3-5 gallon pot. or two in 2 gallon pots.

Strain: Something indica for the headaches.. Northern Lights usually grows quite well. The autoflower NL/Big Bud grows very well and finishes in 10 weeks from seed. Very easy strain.

Here is a NL/BB autoflower being grown under 200w of CFL in a 3 gallon pot. Should yield 2-3 ounces I would guess. That's not too bad for ten weeks..

Here is my first "stealth cab" It cost a lot to set it all up and rig the lights etc.. It all adds up. I outgrew it in 3 weeks. 2ft wide x 1ft deep x 36 high. If you do go the stealth cabinet route just consider how stealthy something with a 180 cfm fan sticking out of it will be.

I should add that using the Tupperware-type containers from HD seem like a great idea, but the light shines right through the plastic.
You are certainly right about the apartment stuff...in a perfect world I'd have my own place and a good friendship with someone really into the best quality bud

I bought a grow box from dealzers. It costed quite a bit but was worth it.

After I set it up I started to realize I could hAve built one easier and cheaper.

A bin (tupperware)with a lid. Cut holes in the lid. Bought cups on amazon. $3 for 10 cups.

Went to the hardware store and got 1/4" tubing and 1' tubing for around $8
Also got a water pump for $15
And air pump for $10

A friend of mine said some thing about a mini fridge for the cabinet so I found a broken one at the thrift store for 15. I just drilled small holes for the cords in the bottom

Carbon filter on amazon for $50

Light was $10

Then $17 for chemical on amazon

Been about a months sense I started my "beans" and they are doing fantastic.

Everything was cheaper then having a pre built one and it took minimal handyman work on my end
