Long time lover, first time thinking about growing 1-2 plants. I live in small apartment... Would have to be stealth. I have never been mechanically inclined but I'm looking for blueprints for s homemade indoor stealth growbox. I'd also be willing to pay someone to build it for me since I have zero tools. Can anyone help? Advice?

I'd love to do it but I have no tool and am horrible at handiwork, my dad never taught me. I'd just like to pay someone to build it because I know I won't know what the hell is doing until I get to gardening part

Go to a hardware store, have them cut you the exact wood pieces you neex to build a grow cab,buy some wood glue and some 90degree brackets, screws and a door hinge. Make a few cut-outs for ventilation and wires and buy some vents/fans/timers lights ect on amazon. Finished. You will gwt charged up the ass if you have someone physically build you a complete ventilated cab. An easier route is just buy a tent from amazon.

Privacy is a concern, I live in a one bedroom apt. With my wife. I do have an outdoor closet that stays pretty cool but it has no windows. What supplies would I need for hydro grow box?

For stealth id say soil is easier. I was thinking like something the size of a military foot locker stood on its side..with an eyelet hook screwed into the middle of the inside side.. get some small chain and hang some cfls inside. Drill holes for vents and cords.

The filled in circle in what would be the top is where i would screw the eyelet hook into. And the hollow circle is where i would drill for cords. You could velcro a patch over it or staplegun old jean denim over it..doesnt matter really..but if light security is an issue..

Privacy from you're wife? Oh boy. Privacy from amazon? Dont even trip. Many ways to do it bro.

A good place to see different setups -> http://rollitup.org/f/hydroponics-aeroponics.50/ read till your eyes bleed
No, not wife.. I'm actually doing this to help her with her horrible migraines. I'm talking about the maintenance guys that come in twice a month for airfilters and electrical checks... They never go to my outdoor closet. I appreciate all the help guys but I really don't think I can make my own box because I have no tools. If one of you had blueprints I could try and build it with my brother. I really wish I knew someone local that could show me how to get started. I'd pay anything to see my wife stop suffering - it's horrible

Can you make something like this work, maybe just to get started! If you are doing this for your wife, the most important thing is to get started! You should be focusing on what your plants will need & read a lot about others problems (plant problems section) and solutions. Don't lean on, the fact you have no tools - buying a set of screwdrivers & completing a box (as mentioned before) is not complicated. Maybe your stressing over small stuff! Buy some 4ft bamboo plant stakes (gardening section from Walmart), zip ties (auto section,Walmart), painter's plastic (guess where). Cut and zip tie your bamboo stakes into a box, cover the sides with plastic (cover from the top to about 4" above the floor -breathing room), leave the top & bottom open. Put box fan on top, leave one wall movable (for the door ) and you have a start - no tools needed!
Don't tell anyone about this! Stay shy - why do you WANT to meet people? :spew:

If you live in a 420 state make sure to get a doctor recommendation. Apartment growing has it's challenges for sure. If you could be arrested or thrown from your complex then think about this carefully. Growing in an apartment is a constant source of stress. You have to consider Light leaks, smell, and heat dispersion not to mention the random maintenance visit.

Height is always your friend. It's common for newbies, like myself to try to grow in a short space. It doesn't work so well. It takes about 5 ft to be on the safe side... Your pot will be a foot tall and you need at least a foot for lights and filter and a foot clearance between light and plant.

For what it's worth, this is my suggestion.
2 x 2 x 5 grow tent. It could cost less than messing around with different boxes and it's light tight. It has all the features you need,
6" fan and phresh carbon filter. I say 6" and not 4" because one day you may want to upgrade to an air cooled hood and most of them have 6" flanges. Vent the heat out the closet door somehow. Trust me when I say that no matter what you try you have to consider where to blow the heat. Even 150w of CFL will heat up a 10x10 bedroom a few degrees. it will heat an unventilated box to well over 100 degrees.

Lights: Take your pick. Either:
250w hps (all in one)
200 watts of assorted CFL
200 watt Mars hydro LED

1 plant in 3-5 gallon pot. or two in 2 gallon pots.

Strain: Something indica for the headaches.. Northern Lights usually grows quite well. The autoflower NL/Big Bud grows very well and finishes in 10 weeks from seed. Very easy strain.

Here is a NL/BB autoflower being grown under 200w of CFL in a 3 gallon pot. Should yield 2-3 ounces I would guess. That's not too bad for ten weeks..

Here is my first "stealth cab" It cost a lot to set it all up and rig the lights etc.. It all adds up. I outgrew it in 3 weeks. 2ft wide x 1ft deep x 36 high. If you do go the stealth cabinet route just consider how stealthy something with a 180 cfm fan sticking out of it will be.

I should add that using the Tupperware-type containers from HD seem like a great idea, but the light shines right through the plastic.

Thanks so much for the tips and recommendations. I had ordered a cad crop box from dealer but cancelled the order at the last minute. $ 500 for a box that got marginal ratings, the customer service was horrible and it was just so much. It's not only for my beautiful wife.. She has migraines so severe that 3 times a month she is vomiting non stop, she gets nauseous---I have a terrible low back injury with 2 bulging discs and premature facet degeneration...sometimes the pain gets so bad that actually start crying and cursing God... I know that horrible... But in any case I want to get off all these addictive pain mess....they are enabling me to lead a semi-normal life and I have a great job in the health industry...from what I have researched if I lived in CO I believe I could get off all this heavy, addictive stuff and just use a safe plant with many medical benefits. I am so frustrated that this is all political...the war on drugs...locking up people for marijuana as the carjacker receives a reduced sentence...its so corrupt. I don't know anyone here with the type of knowledge or product that could ease my suffering and more importantly my wife's suffering. Does anyone have a few auto flower seeds of indica or a hybrid? I can't grow in my place unless it is smell proof... I have an outdoor closet which stays at about 75f and does not have windows or ventilation. I could grow one or two on patio if it was in a closed system.. I have $225 that I can offer to someone that sends me a partially built complete system...is anyone okay with that? Thanks again everyone for all of your valuable insight / you are all very very kind and giving. Bi am not in 420 state...I'm in one of the Carolinas. Here is a picture of my patio space...
