Excited to see what happens with what happens with the Blowfish... never heard of it.

Glad your light came and you are going to see a big difference with it being in the room - something to really look forward to!

Well, time for another update.

MZ, You were right, I'm already seeing the difference from adding the second light. I've got thing set up so that my biggest/bushiest plants are in the center between the lights and are getting hit from both sides, and the difference in the bud production is amazing. The grow in general is going just great, especially since I moved to the basement. Only odd thing is that my plants are running late when it comes to finishing up, and I had to harvest a couple before they were completely done so I wouldn't run out. I'm guessing that the extreme temps I was going through before I moved into the basement stalled my plants development, and hopefully the change to the basement will allow me to re-establish a bit more reliable schedule once I'm through that particular group of plants.

I'm still battling spider mites, but I'm slowly winning the battle. The little bastards are only getting a few leaves on the lower branches these days, and I'm hoping that sooner or later I'll manage to wipe the last adult and egg out and become mite free. I probably could have killed them off by now with more aggressive action, but after the problems I had with my first grow when I went overboard on mite suppression I decided it was better to let a few mites survive then to spray heavily, stunt the plants growth, and screw up my harvests. I'm still looking into predator bugs, but after what happend to the lady bugs I think it might be a good idea for me to have lights with covered hoods before I use bugs again. :)

Had another harvest the other day, though it was another plant that was kind of iffy. Not much in the way of amber trichs on the main cola, and the pistils hadn't retracted, but the other branches were all looking almost overdone. Suppose I could have done a staged harvest and left the few buds that still needed some time, but I didn't think about it until after it was too late. I didn't bother weighing this one, but it looks like it's going to end up yielding at least as much as the last harvest, and probably a bit more. Speaking of which, after drying the last last plant weighed in an 2 8/10 oz. Not what I might have liked, but since each plant coming up behind it is bigger I think I'll be in the range I'm looking for soon.

Time for another update.

My harvesting schedule has been totally thrown off. I'm not sure if the higher temps in the old flowering room caused the plants to shut down, or if the change to the new room and adjustment to the new conditions created the same effect (or maybe a combination of both), but none of my plants are finishing up anywhere close to when they should have. This of course has meant that I haven't been able to transfer plants from the veg room, so I'm going to end up with a few more monster plants before I can get things back on track.

Speaking of monster plants, my biggest is just shy of six foot now, and has just started to put on buds. I'm going to have to do a lot of staking and tieing, because this one is going to have something like 6-8 big colas. It split just above the base when it was a young transplanted clone, and then each of the tops got fimmed and split another 3-4 times. Not sure yet, but I may just have the plant to take an uncle ben style pic with if things go well. :)

Anyway, not a lot has changed. Spider mites still keep coming back, my new strains are coming along fine, and there hasn't been a new harvest, so I'll close up now and post again in a few days once my oldest plant is finally done.

Had another harvest yesterday, and it may me my best yet. I was able to be patient with this one and wait until it was 100% ready, and it looks to have rewarded me well. The plant really didn't look all that big compared to the last couple I've harvested, but it had so many branches and secondary colas that developed completely that it made up for it having smaller main cola. This was the first plant that I tied all the branches up on as soon as they started to sag, so it seem's reasonable to assume that tying them up so that the secondary branches get more light makes a big difference. I know thats one of those "well, duhhh" things for experienced growers, but until you experience it for yourself you just don't appreciate the difference.

Spider mites are still being a problem. I've looked into predator mites, but there isn't anywhere local I can get them and i really don't want to have to order them online. I talked to the folks down at Paulino gardens today about the lack of results from the Doctor Doom, and they say that I should be spraying it every 4 days instead of every 7 (like I have been) because it doesn't kill the eggs. I was planning on trying azamax, but I'm going to give the doctor doom another chance using their every 4 day schedule for 4-6 week. If it doesn't work then I guess I'll have no choice but to try predator mites, but I hate spending the money to buy bugs that are going to end up dying or moving as soon as they've finished off the mites.

Other then the mites the grow is going well, though my schedule has been totally screwed up. I've got 5 plants in my vegging area that are a lot taller then i wanted them to be when they flowered, and it's going to be at least another 4-5 days before I can move even one of them, let alone the rest. My blowfish passed the 2 ft mark yesterday, and since these are a sativa i absolutely have to get them moved soon or they are going to end up hitting my roof. I also need to get off my lazy butt and do a new set of clones this weekend, though I'm not quite sure how many I should take from each strain. Starting to wish I lived someplace out in the countryside where I could just put my small vegging plants in the backyard during the day and be done with worrying about having too many plants for my light to cover (I still only have the single 400w to veg with).
