Bloombox by Northern Lights

thanks for that, fishenfool. Interesting that you can't run flower and bloom at the same time for heat reasons. I am looking to go with the producer, and i don't mind having to develop the clones first although that makes the whole grow cycle longer. The increased yield should carry me through the extra time :eyesmoke:

The problem is where to keep the mother. Is it possible to keep a mother alive indoors without a special lighting arrangement? Would it work to simply put the mother in a pot on the windowsill and keep cutting her back as she grows (if she grows?) the mother doesn't get taller than about 3 feet, right? I can't afford to get both a producer and a mothership and i've basically come to terms with my limitations. The two problems now remaining are 1) how to keep the mother going, (suggestions are extremely welcome) and 2) dealing with the heat.

I was considering venting the hot air from the chamber but that's not easy either. Given the huge size of the cabinet, there are not many places that i can put it where i can reasonably lay a duct to the outside, and i am not keen on drilling a hole through the wall either. But i am determined to get a producer due to its 18-plant capacity. I have not seen another box that can grow so many. The space in the producer and the distance between the grow sites will contribute to growing great medicinal grade weed. :weed:

(i just wish the cabinets wouldn't look like something you'd see in a hospital emergency room, all white. They practically call for a red cross to be painted on.)

my bigest gripe about the hole thing is , you must be realy good about timing the right time to flower. If u flower to early u have small plants , small plants meen small buds.if u veg to long , ur plants will get to big and croud eachother. If ur canipy is to thick , u will have less ventalation between plants. 9 plants in a small sapce like that , very tight. High temps , high humidity & stresed plants leed to mold. Once u have it its almost imposible to get rid of. Got it on my second grow and i have been batteling it since and im finishing my 5th cycle. Sumer is coming and im not useing it untill the end of fall.
Temps will be to high. Hawever i am going to make a new system. A dwc system in a other room. No cabinet.

Im going to make 6 dwc systems from 6 5 gall buckets each with its oun air and drip systems, under one 600 w hps lamp. I all redy have my xtra sun lamp hood, 600w hps lamp, lumateck 600w digital balist and a 750 cfm vortex fan for cooling my lamps and venting air .im waiting for my girls to finish flushing im in my 9th week of flower. Im hopeing friday. I will still use the veg chamber to bring them up to my desired higth, then ill flower with the new system.

no noise ? grate yeld? i dont know what bloom box u got but mine is far from no noise! between the fan running 24/7 or the under sized air pump rattling away inside. and dont even think about sleep if the flowering side turns on! im turning mine into a storage cabinet like it was intended. total wast of time and cash.

mine is 2 years old and is in my bedroom at the back of the house, and u can here it threw the entire house. i feel like i got screwed ! i spent 5 grand on this box, i got one cycle to finish. half of it was covered with mold , and had to throw it away! i know there is no guaranty in life but u would think people like BCNL would be honest with there customers and enform them of the problems thear boxes have. not blow smoke up there ass and tell them " you dont have to worry about this system , just set it and forget it." i work hard for my money and in this day and age 5 thousand dollars is hard to come by. i'm using a stink bud system, i built for about 500 bucks. it's bigger holds more plants, no mold and it's quiet.

i know for a fact that some of the BCNL people read RIU and you would think they would try to "put out the flames" after all the trashing i have done. it just goes to show were there customer support is! even if you do call u get this girl that do not know what to say, she has to get back to you. and there other grow experts are so dam rude, i makes me wonder, why as a company owner would you want to put somebody like that on the phone!

you got me all worked up. sorry. i said it before and i will say it again . if u are thinking about getting one, dont. if you already have one , sorry.

I picked up a used Producer and this is my first time growing. One main reason I bought the Producer was that I need the stealth because I have it in my office.
I bought some clones and have been vegging them for a bit so I plan to hit the flowering stage at the end of the week.

I will keep you posted on how things go.

Bought the BloomBox Royale w/Cheese about a month ago. Total cost=$5400. Came with a years supply of nutes, all the replacement bulbs and pumps, their dryer, and the trimmer. So far, I'm 3 weeks into vegging seeds. The only problem I've had is the ballast. It burnt out 1 night, called them, less than 24 hours from Vancouver to New England I had a new one. Lumatek Ballast if anyone is interested. Other than that, it really is turnkey, Nutra-Dip digital meter is definitely a nice addition to noobies such as myself. Good investment so far

veg works grate. just keep your fluid cold. during flowering i could not keep mine down 75 -78 is to hot , root rot was the first problem. the tips of the leafs got crispy and curled down, like a claw. also the ph would not stabilize and then the powdery mold started. u have a producer and i think it has more exhaust fans, the bloom box needs moor ventilation . its to hot most of the time in cali, for a box. i dont want to grow only in the winter.

yea just got mine a month ago has five fans in it and room for more. i put more to get thr co2 to flow threw the box better and tweeked a couple things. but yea feel they are rude as shit to i cussed one them out cus he was a dick. Jordan is the best one to talk to he nice and will call you back everytime. but a bloombox is more for personal and some friends. if want lot yeilds get producer and i always keep a mother in veg side of bb in hydro tub for non stop production you have to research what strains are best fot bb becouse of heat and space and to get rid of mold add vents and fans and flush hydro tubs once a week then u wont have any mold from exp. but i still say the new bb are inproved and if u got the doe go for it and if your selling get mothership and producer never any down time

anybody used the trimmer yet?
i see they have made some changes, and probably to fix most of the troubles i had. bit i still cant change the temp problem. with all fans running and lights on. the temp is always 4-5 deg hotter than the intake air. simply put if you room is 75 deg the inside if the box will be 79-80 deg thats to hot for the roots. it work grate if your temps are 64-65 deg then you end up with 70ish temps. but not in cali. it's always hot. besides docent the producer have 2 400 w lamps? plus some t5's with the up grade.

the trimmer that comes with the bb royale with cheese it is supposed to trim all your bud just by spinning a knob 17 times instead of doing it by hand ive never used one but i got one so i guess ill find out soon its crazy looking tho. they swear by it so i guess ill use it. yea bout temp i use window unit to keep room 68 all times that way it is perfect and i dont have to cool the whole house cus that would be lot of doe all summer so just that one room is cool. i flush my tubs once a week with a custom feeding schuldule.its been working great so far u just have to get the hang of the box and adjust to it. i was kind of a newbie when started with it to. but if anybody thats use the trimmer let me know how it worked.

The trimmer works the balls. You just need to go in and trim all the bigger stuff out, right at the branch, but the rest of it is like magic when you take the top off.
