Blimburn seeds

Hey all,
I've been growing and buying seeds for nearly 20 years and seems like over the last few years the quality of seeds has gone way down.

I like to grow a combination of nice hybrids as well as cbd rich varieties.Recntly placed an order with blumburn seeds. The shipping, communication and selection is great but when only 1 of 6 gsc cbd beans sporouted i contacted them to find you need to make videos of the germination process? Brutal, and just a heads up about the lack of quality. (The other seeds I started at the time all sprouted in 3 days as expected.)

Seems there are soo many banks selling old and garbage seeds now i need a good source in Canada. The Dutch breeders i use to use are not shipping internationally anymore?

Any recommendations are appreciated.

Pretty sure blimburn along with many others like dinafem, royal queen, expert, europa, etc etc etc they are all white label resellers and not real “breeders” they literally just buy a load of different strains in bulk from farmers in Europe etc and label them as their own strains to resell. You jus tended to make sure the seeds you’re buying come from actual breeders and not white label resellers, that’s probably why you’re getting poor results in general.

Have a look around in here on the breeders section to find out which ones are best/good and reliable. In house genetics, cannarado, karma genetics are a few that I use and have had great/amazing results every time usually but there’s a whole shit ton of other breeders who do amazing work, they do tend to cost more money than banks like blimburn etc but as the old saying goes “you get what you pay for” and whilst it’s not always true in the seed game it’s definitely true to some extent. Doesn’t always mean just because they are expensive they are good tho and vice Versa.

Oh just remember if you don’t wanna spend too much money but want good genetics still then DNA genetics are pretty good. I’d stick with their newer lines like their sorbet line but it’s up to you, I don’t know what their older stock is like anymore but I’ve done some of their sorbet line recently-ish.

TH seeds might be worth a try. Not done any myself but I have a load of freebies from attitude and from what I’ve seen/heard he does his own breeding and is in the USA. I think his seeds are more reasonably priced too. There’s a whole load of other great breeders out there tho and many probably better than the ones I recommended.

Useful seeds are highly rated on this forum too afaik.

Defo check out this section more. The breeders with the most pages tend to the better ones or at least are going to be the ones with more actual real world feedback that’s usable/useful to you/us as a customer.

As for cbd genetics Dutch passion have a few but I can’t comment on quality as it’s been over a decade since I done any of their beans and I don’t know if they do their own breeding work anymore either.

A lot of the Dutch breeders that used to originally do their own work stopped around 2010-ish when Netherlands started cracking down on breeders/seed makers and raiding them all so a lot either lost all their genetics/breeding stock/parents and/or they decided it wasn’t worth the risk and stopped or moved onto buying bulk seeds from “white label” farmers in Spain/eu etc and instead of stoping of telling their customers they just switched out their beans for the white label ones and pretend they still do the work (or just say nothing at all about breeding to avoid false advertising etc). Also a whole load of other random companies realised they could also jump in the seed game bandwagon and “pretend” they are breeders too and also resell the white label seeds and make some easy cash so there’s a whole shit load of fake “breeders”/resellers selling mostly the same mass produced bulk seeds as different genetics. It’s a dirty game out there.

there’s a few that still do their own work tho like sannies and a few others in Netherlands that didn’t get caught up in the bs. You’ll need to do some research to figure out who’s legit and who’s not in the cannabis seed industry.

Sorry for the long post.

That makes sense. I get the feeling these are pretty old beans, too bad was hoping to get a mom out of the batch.
I've got a new order coming from seedsman in the uk. Prices aren't great but some good freebies come with the order and everything comes in original breeders packs.

I realize this is the first post on a brand new account, but I lost my old email login from 2010.
I grew out their Oreoz, and it was mine; and others least favorite when compared to 20twenty or Humboldt.
Posted link so as not to be confused w/Humboldt CSI.
