Blackstrap Molasses Questions

I've heard that using blackstrap molasses has many benefits for the plants. I was wondering if it attracts animals, and also how much and how often should i use it. I'm growing in 50% pro mix-bx 50% maricle grow potting soil. I'm also using maricle grow 20-20-20 standard plant food. Here's a picture of the molasses i bought.

im not so worried about ants because some of my plants have ants already and they don't harm them, if anything they allow more oxygen to get to the roots. I've been having issues with what i think is a racoon digging in my pots, in some cases uprooting entire plants but not eating them, just digging in my soil. if it won't attract animals i would like to use it.

its a guerrilla grow, if i put fencing around it, i would risk them being noticed by the fly overs. so far i've just put a layer or the dirt from the ground on top of all the plants and it seems to be working alright, the encounters have been getting less and less, i have also tried poisoning the little basterds but they didnt die, jus took a big shit where the poison was lol. but what does the molasses actually do for the plant?

I had a bear come into my garden last year and bite a hole in my 5 gallon bucket of molasses, and dump it over, and eat most of it off the ground......."DON'T FEED THE BEARS!!"

I'm attempting my first outdoor grow atm, and had the same question about molasses and critters. In my case, it's prolly rabbits, racoons, and/or ground squirrels. I ended up using the molasses after all. Lost one plant so far, but that was before I spread some hot pepper/garic mixture and some urine around my plants to keep the critters away. So far it seems to be working, but it's only been a week, lol. Racoons in articular are tough to keep away...they seem to go where they want and do what they want.
