Blackberry Kush

Does anyone know where I could order seeds of this strain or it's origins? Honestly from pictures looks like one of the best strains I've ever seen but I've never seen it in person.

Thanks

The Blackberry Kush is one of my favorite to grow. It is what we call "bomb-proof" around here for it's resistance to PM. The look is amazing, purple with high trichome count. The smell is super kushy. The high is not overpowering strong, like sour d, but it is a mellow kush . It autoflowers due to the ruderalis in it's lineage, so I veg under 24. I've posted more pics of bbk grown using vegan organics on my thread.

Here is an interesting perspective on the history of the Blackberry Kush. Sorry links didn't copy right.

"Master breeder, Nebu derivative from NorCal bagseeds but still unknown genetics tho I told my friends that if you crossed flo with a pre-98 bubba you would get this. Oregon purple thai in it imho. Frosty and staunch with deep flavors. A fine example of the Blackberry phonotype. Earthy undertones with a dark berry burst highlight this magnificent strain that is at times rather crappy at many coops. Hard to grow and somewhat unstable Im told. But if you cant find dakind then youre in biznatch. Very effective pain relief as well as some euphoria that creeps into "stoned" bakeyness aswell. A sweet change of pace curveball to mix up that og routine many of us socallers fall into. but what an og hole to fall for. gem found at hr."

OR this guy:

"What are the genetics behind bbk? I have heard its just a straight up Blackbbery x OG but I have also heard Blackberry x Bubba x White Rhino and Blackberry x White Rhino x OG so I just wanted to know what the official genetics are."

OR maybe this guy is right:

"Lineage: Afghani Mother x DJ Shorts Blue Berry
Pheno type: Chronic
Family: 80% Indica 20% Sativa"

Thanks much for the info Matt! I really enjoy this strain but have been having problems with some of my plants autoflowering in veg. It's interesting to hear that this strain may have ruderalis genetics, as at least the clones that I have have always indicated that they're anxious to flower (trichome production and preflowers while in veg). One plant in particular really tried to kill herself by going into advanced senescence, though we were able to bring her back into veg through some combination of repotting (she was more than-likely rootlocked), foliar feeding with 1/3 strength bloom fert + watering with the same, and plucking off the yellowing/dying shade leaves (wife's idea). Within a few days she stopped her senescence and reverted back into veg. - at least temporarily. She seems to be heading back that way again (not big enough to flower properly) so I'm going to switch her and my remaining veggies to 24/0 and see if it clears up!

You're welcome. I will be attempting to grow this variety again soon. I liked to smoke it because it was so tasty and balanced high. Not too potent.

I doubt the ruderalis genetics, but it certainly will autoflower on ya.

Blackberry is the prettiest but weakest kush I've ever smoked. Got it on more than acouple times hoping to be impressed but to no avail. Nice purple tinges but the smoke is C grade... no choke effect and no flavor at all. Tastes like brickweed from Oaxaca.

smokaholic your blackberry wasnt what it should have been. or your tasteBUDS were pulled early and are now getting mold.

I've seen a lot of variation in finished product of blackberry. The strain that I personally grew was very potent but I do agree it was lacking in flavor. It was very frosty and I had different degrees of purple hues depending on how much I played with the temperature.

As far as growing the plant the strain I had (acquired from a disp. in Hollywood) was very easy to grow. One crop I had a huge PM and mite problem and the blackberry was deffinately less affected when compared to the other strains. Barely noticed any PM on it at all. She always stayed about 4' max even with very extended veg time. She would just stop growing up and continue growing wider and bushier. I never pulled less than 4oz. off of any one that I grew including the ones that suffered through the mite and PM problem crop.

blackberry kush feminized s1s throw similar phenotypes to the original. its pretty stable I grew 20 thinking i was going to have to do alot of selecting, but only two stood out as better than the original and the rest were pretty spot on with minor differences in color and terp profiles

The high was not overpowering, but i would rate it well over a C... just a typical purple strain high... it did have no berryish flavor, so i assumed they meant blackberr, as in the cell phone, cuz it makes people talk forever :P
