Black larvae in hydro roots

Wondering if anyone can identify what the hell these critters are in my roots. A photo is pretty useless as they're very tiny. They're only a few millimeters in length and look black from afar. Using a handheld microscope, they look like tiny caterpillars. They have a small black head, each segment on their body is transparent with a single lateral black line. They have larger pincers/hairs on their rear and a couple hairs coming off of each segment. More caterpillar-like than maggot-like.

This is an indoor grow and I have a sticky strip up. I only see common gnats and a couple harmless flying bugs. These are not mosquito nor fungus gnat larvae. There are only a few of them, no where near an infestation.

My hunch is they're some kind of aquatic moth. Think they'll be a problem?

Yeah, RO water that I have filling up a large enclosed trash bin (purchased new and disinfected). All indoors, but my source water is from a well. It's definitely possible something laid eggs in the bin at some point.
