weed today is more potent than weed was when i was a kid, but it takes more to get me off as i've aged.
the weed from yesterday that seems like it was as powerful as anything today...wasn't. it just seems that way in our memories. it may have been a damn sight better than anything available at the time, but if you had that bag today, you'd be disappointed.

except for the REALLY good stuff that we can only imagine of now........Sah Tea Vah

An east coast suburban town outside of D.C.. A typical bag of weed was about 45% intact seeded micro-flowers, 20% flower parts, 20% sugar leaf, and 15% seed and stem.

It was mostly garbage, dude.
Thats soul crushing.
I mean... where i am is basically the siberia of north america and at worst we had "Columbian," which was mexican ditch weed. Mostly seeded flowers, but it got ya buzzed.
For a while there was "Columbian Gold" and it was really gold in colour. Tasty. And decently potent. But it was also mexican... lol acapulco gold probably...

I got a buddy that grows really fine exotic African cultivars. They take forever and they need alot of space inside. But wow is it fire. Truly different than the typical indoor hybrids. My patients prefer the clobber indica hybrids for indoors. So that's what I grow. The most sativa ish I run is Santa Cruz Blue Dream. And only a few under one lamp for a specific patient. Yields like a mutha too. Just giant donkey dick colas. A patient I got will only smoke the Dream. Everyone else is sick of it.

I dont know if that is fair to say...
I mean we were young back then and of course we had to "score" off big brothers mostly, who usually ripped off their little brothers. Lol
Also, there was great weed around back then but it was rare.. and so even more rare to us younger guys, who were at the end of the line, behind our big brothers in the weed chain.

I dunno... i smoked plenty of weed in the 70/80s that was just as good as any top shelf stuff around now. But that was only a available a few times a year, if you knew the right people....

Then came "BC hydro" in the late 80s... that shit was always seedless and potent as anything i have ever smoked to this day (and ive smoked all over the world). That BC hydro was everywhere in alberta... still is...

So... imo weed was just as good as back then...its just that now its way more common and accessible to everybody. Its not exclusive anymore.

Ive got some landrace Mozambique Poison beans. I dont know if theyll pop though... theyre at least 6 years old now. I havent tried them because they guy who gave them to me said 16 weeks to flower out minimum. Could be 18 to 20 wks to finish right... so... i have been afraid to commit...lol

I quit growing those land race sattys years ago. First off they take too long. Expensive running lamps 12 to 20 weeks in bloom for something my patients dont really want. I wouldnt mind the flower but Iam cool running the regualr hybrid gear everyone else runs. My buddy that runs the long season African stuff...he just grows for himself and wont grow the indica stuff anymore.

We didn't know any better, dude.

This dude I worked with had a connection in D.C. that had some Jamaican, and it was 1 of the only sources of seedless I ever had back then. It was probably a sativa, and it would hold up to anything on the market today. Just a really clean, crisp, pleasant high that made shit FUN...which is exactly why we smoked weed back then, and now, too....

Ignorance can truly be bliss.

Years back the lady and I flew to Negril Jamaica for a week long vacation. Negril by the way is Jamaica's cannabis mecca. Its everywhere on the island but Negril is on a whole other level. You would see roadside barbeque and Red Stripe beer stands with old Jamaican mamas cooking away with giant spliffs hanging out their mouths. I searched high and low for real deal Lambs Bread sativa but none to be found. What they grow on the island is mostly what we grow. Acclimated to Jamaica but its still hybrids with alot of indica. Still fukin pure hell fire buds. Iam sure the land race sattys are tucked away in the hills..but I didn't score any. Good frikin weed though. Damn good.

You dont score from the driver and beach hustlers. They do the classic bait and switch. Show you a small bag of the top that the island has to offer. The stuff they smoke. Then say Ill be right back mon. And bring back the premature picked early still wet junk. Ya got to get in good with the bag porters and resort workers (the cooks got the hookup) or the Alvins Bar hang outs. And you have to flash a little cash to get thier attention and tell them to take you to the farmer. Throw them a couple bucks and they will take you to the farmer and the real deal. Smoke him out. Be cool. Buy him some Red Stripes and maybe some jerk barbeque. (Everything is cheap) and likely you will have a cool cat that will show you the real Jamaica and the good buds and mushrooms. Even some fire numb your skull coke. Yes I partook just a little toot there and god was it good. We had a blast. That's how you make pals and I still got his number and talk to him amd his mom/family to this day. But you gotta watch it. Some will rob you blind and beat you down. The political gangs and whatnot over on the other side of the island. Kingston. I wouldnt go there if you paid me. They think just because your from America you got money. They dont realize a regular middle class working Joe from the States can afford a small vacation once a year. But anyways yeah..just gotta be cool and treat the natives with respect. Also alot of cool older hippies from the States in Negril who went there in the 70's and never left. I met this old hippie Deadhead rasta white gal who had skin like leather. She was another down to earth cat who knew EVERYBODY in negril it seemed. Smoke alot of ganja with the locals and we danced and partied down. But definitely be careful. If you cant handle your alcohol or drugs and act a fool you might end up with the wrong crowd and they will roll you like a jelly donut.

Getting busted with hash in the states, back in the day, was the same as getting busted for coke or heroin. Because it was "processed" into concentrate it was a major crime to posses it. Reefer madness...

None of the producers in Canada know how to make black hash.. people in BC make hash for the black market and its way better than the oily gooey mess they call hash u can't even heat it to break it up it makes it more of a mess...when vortex first came out with legal black hash there's was called Afghan black and u could heat it same as 3 Saints Hash like do they add oil or a distillate to it. It claims to be made the traditional Afghanistan way but not even close now it's crap...I'll stick to black market hash way better
