Black Dog LED PhytoMAX-2 800 Grow

Im going to try to document the flower cycle for a grow with a Black Dog LED PhytoMAX-2.

Here are the parameters:
  • Light used:
    • Black Dog LED PhytoMAX-2 800 (840 TRUE watts)
  • Grow Space:
    • 3.5 x 3.5 grow tent kit from BDL
  • Strain:
    • 4 Burmese Kush plants
  • Medium & pot size
    • Plants are in 7 gallon pots of HP Pro Mix
  • Nutrients:
    • Feeding Advanced Nutrients basic line, (will attach the feed chart below)
  • Veg time
    • 6 weeks
  • Flower cycle
    • will be 9 weeks
  • Environmental conditions:
    • Lights on: 86-88 with C02
    • Lights off: 68-72
    • Humidity: 50-55
  • Notes:
    • Using Three a light methods (schwazzing aka heavy defoil on day 1 and again on day 21)

Plants have already been vegged out under the PhytoMAX-2 and have had 6 weeks to get as large and bushy to fill up the foot print. Day 1 of flower will begin today and I will post pictures from before and after their heavy defoliation.

The defoil is a crazy shocker if you have never done it before, but the girls love it. And they really soak up all the light deeper down too. These BDL are beast.

what did you pay for the light if you don't mind me asking?

I've thought about heading up to Boulder to see the company HQ and see what new gadgets they are working on.

I work close with these guys and have a consulting company & Hydro Distribution company so my prices on equipment and supplies are going to be better than any out there.

I will say, they are worth every penny, we have hit some serious weights on he quality is top shelf. My commercial clients get huge rebates (30-40%) which is awesome, but the biggest factor I love is the spectrum targeting that allows to run the rooms warmer since its not wasting energy and heating the plant up like traditional lights. That huge advantage saves 40%+ on HVAC.

You can always check out the stuff I am doing on instagram, which is honestly the platform I use. I havent used this in years and thought I would jump on and start posting some test and grows again.

cool. thanks for the info. there are a few US brands of LEDS that are really high quality and of course higher prices. but return on investment is usually short and well worth it.

Results speak for themself and when I can pull over 2 on this 800w light and over 3 on the 1000's the ROI vs initial price is a no brainer.

I have run the PM2-1000 which is a true 1050 watt light in a 4x4 tent and hit 3.6 on it, so ya upfront cost vs return is worth it.

Also, you mentioned heat, but because of the spectrum of these lights you can run warmer in the rooms at 84-88 depending if your running c02 or not. So ya it may be more watts in that tent, but to keep it at 88 is actually alot easier and less power than at 76 under other lights at same wattage.

And so you know i am not an "internet warrior" check out my instagram, @Tckcliff. I stand behind the BDL fully as the best light on the market. out performing HPS and any other LED. I have beating every record i have had, even on a commercial scale with these lights and my clients are too. I never fail to be impressed with them.

It looks like a quality lamp.. Im new to the IG thing but I'll mosey on over and check u out.. I have ZERO reason to doubt u so until that changes I'll take your word..

I have a 40"x40" and usually keep my strips dimmed to around 350-400.. cant imagine doubling that.. u should get some strips or something and put

it head to head and see what happens.. I bet u could get those same 2 with around 5-600w of strips.. I look forward to seeing what ur doing!

edit: shit if my math is right thats over 65 w/ft2 :shock:

I am going to start posting a bunch of the different grows done under the BDL to show them off and how they perform. This grow is already done, I am trying to find all the pictures and content from it and will be releasing all of it over the next couple of weeks.

Ya i got off here a long time ago, but jumped on IG just cause it was easier but trying to get back on here and help show off new tech and methods I have learned and used over the years to hit these crazy weights now.
