I seem to have small beetle like bugs in my grow, they appear to be feeding from the top of the plant and leave a purplish mark when they are done. The bugs also have a very short life span and seem to only live a few days. It has wings and I have found about a total of four of them in their in the last two days. We are using a Aeroponics/Bubbleponics Hybrid, loosely designed after the aquamist systems. The insects seems to have no interest in the roots its just the leaf material and I haven't found any younger or older stages of them in the grow, also they have a hard shell it almost looks like a black and white checkered design.

I know it's going to be hard to tell what it is by the picture because of their size

EDIT : Oh and btw if you couldn't tell it may be a little bit smished

Look dermestidae..carpet beetles. They eat pollen. and lots of other stuff.
I looked at a bunch of pictures of them and it looks more like carpet beetles then everything else I could find, I am wondering if the juveniles are alot smaller and could be black and white without the brown.

Found a few more dead ones and what looks like a Gnat, applied a organic pesticide meant to treat gnats and general beetle problems, wish me luck
