And fish scraps for amino extracts
I did the rotting fish carcasses before...
can't say I recommend it really, my shop is in soquel and it's like a mile to the wharf, and there are lots of fish carcasses there...
takes a while, get LOTS of leaves and grassclippings, and cover it, don't stir for at least a month.
If you do stir.... be prepared...
And it'll attract raccoons, possums, cougars, dogs, cats, squirrels, foxes, rats, mice...
Meh... I got sorta lazy, and went with fish meal and fishbonemeal to add.. if you want all those fancy enzymes i'd give em a shot of fish hydrosolylate.
A ton of work, and the pile just took to long to breakdown... and it staaaank....
In hindsight if I did it again, i'd layer it with a dessicating agent.. like maybe peat or something, dry it out real good first, my problem was I put it in there raw, and with a bunch of bullkelp too... whew...

In a sealable plastic container get: Equal parts by weight fish scraps with molasses then fill with water until it just covers the black goop. Add 15-30mL of EMe or aa single probiotic tablet. Don't bother stirring and seal it for 7-10 days. Strain out the solids and use diluted 1:100 into nonchlorinated water as a foliar spray or a soil drench weekly.

Minimal foul smells. And a great source of fish aminos.

I use this as frequently as I can. I like to make it by the kilo of fish (save em up in the freezer if you aren't next to a wild source). It'll use about a liter of water.

Heres the page with an example of my resulting liquid.
