So I don't get it, why do people grow auto's? You use twice the light, for half the yield. For a mediocre product? Why not just force flower regular beans? What's the average time from start to finish? I can finish regular beans in under 70 days. I mean for a college kid trying to experiment with a single plant in your dorm, or growing at your parents house in your micro pc case, lol. Have people really become so lazy, they need to grow he-she midgets aka auto-fem. When I first started growing I started witg shop lights in a closet, and said to myself "this isn't enough". And now I have 14k of lights and I am in 10K co-op and run consultant gardens on the side, and it's still not enough. How could auto's ever satisfy you?
LOL dude. It's just weed. The autos are just good ole hardy plants and easy to grow. You can run the lights however you want and it hasn't ever really mattered. Not everyone wants to be a weed farmer. It's like if you grow a few flowers out in front of your home doesn't mean everyone wants to be a flower shop owner. I mean it's just weed. It's shouldn't consume your hole life. Take a breather and do something else once in a while too. lol

Yeah I guess I can understand, when I got in this game, I said I want to do this for the rest of my life. I have helped tons of people quit their day jobs and turned them into real deal growers. Maybe I obsessed with the plant or maybe it's the life style. But I do love this plant.

Yeah man it's kinda like a hobby to me. I really think noobs should start out with autos. They really are Hardy and carefree. Kinda hard to screw it up really.

"it was 110 days total i had to trigger flowering other wise i am pretty sure it would of just kept growing "....

Not an auto imo,if you gotta trigger flowering at all...
I've grown one auto..amnesia...Ok yeild, for an auto..average smoke, easy grow,I'd recommend getting the last pack available NOW,before my wife talks me into it(please get it!!! :-))
seed was
https://www.cannabis-seeds-bank.co.uk/barneys-farm-auto-blue-mammoth/prod_3437.html

the trouble was i was running a rdwc mix in a single bucket so the food supply and water supply was no where near what it should of been ....running on a 20/4 time table it just kept going ....i could not let it with the amount of room it took up

so i altered it 12/12 for a week and the feed when off plan and i start my learning curve .......with the amount of food i was offering it got to a point everything was in there so once the 12/12 came on the natural genetics of was triggered for a week if started using the PK more then the N but it still grew

the whole point of doing it was to prove it is just a matter of water and food otherwise i would of never spent the time PHing like i did i kept it to close to perfect as i could with maximum feed

a auto will keep going as long as it has what it needs the genetics can be tricked allowing autos to be used as commercial plants in a shop the lack of cloning is the down side but the speed and amounts can weight ........so starting a shop can be done in 6 months instead of 9 months to a year

4 months to grow the crops 2 months for proper cure

the plants genetics said it should of been only 65 days ........the auto is in there other wise the flip back to 20/4 would of kept it growing

Don't get it twisted bro, I do have a "real" grow-op. I'm running 7600w. I have some older folks that just can't handle my other strains. They prefer the milder stuff, not everybody wants to be blown away. You ever seen a senior citizen trip out after smoking Tijuana Original Haze? I have, not cool, lol. Autos are also good for pain relief. My wife likes auto smoke sometimes too. There fun to watch, don't take up much room or nutes and the lights are on anyway. They have their place but I wouldn't run them exclusively.

Try some Dinafem Critical Jack auto. That stuff blew me away. At night it makes me relax and sleep like a baby. In the middle of the day tho it literally is just like DAMM. And I can get seriously noid. I think the range of autos available may surprise some with the varying potency. World of Seeds Afghan Kush Ryder is also powerful. But, I've never gotten more than 3 os from a plant. And the Critical Jack only gave me about 1. So I see where the larger growers would be more oriented towards photo. You can do more to manipulate and increase yield and potency I am sure. But, the autos are just so easy and hardy, I think they are perfect for the noobs and tiny micro grower like myself who doesn't want to spend a lot of time and effort. Anyway, good stuff here.

Yea the only reason I am looking into them is because at this point in season I'm wanting to start another grow but I can't start photos in this time in winter I only get 11 hours of sun a day so photos won't grow, so I figure if I get autos I can throw them outside and not have to worry about the shortness of daylight , autos will grow anyway.

They are so flexable with lighting.

I don't think it works that way. They need the 20 hours give or take of light to finish in 10 weeks or so. If you give them less light they are going to grow a lot slower. Seeing how it has the ruderalis gene I'm not sure if the plant will live long enough under diminished light to really produce much quality.

Now with that being said I'm a personal stash guy and just pulled 150 grams trimmed and dried off a Barneys Sweet Tooth auto. Quality personal stash to boot.

Can't speak for every strain because they will all have different traits. But I have grown autos on 12/12. Probably will effect the yield a bit, but if done correctly you will get your early harvest. There is something about the life cycle of the plant that is engrained in its maturity schedule. + - of course.
