Bigger Bud

Now I'm more used to growing African Violets than pot but a lesson I learned from violets is that when those folks are getting ready for a Show and they want big blossoms they pinch off the blooms once or twice and the plant responds by producing bigger blossoms.

I wonder if that would work in creating bigger bud in grass growing?

They key difference here is that in those examples getting bigger blossoms is worth the loss of smaller, unsaleable ones. With marijuana the size of the bud makes little difference compared to total yield.

So if an African Violet with especially large blossoms is valuable and one with small or mediocre ones - even if their total weight is higher - is less valuable it makes sense to sacrifice the smaller ones to encourage the remaining blossoms to grow bigger.

With marijuana that's just not the case. Any improvement in bud size caused by the destruction of smaller immature blossoms would represent a bigger overall loss in weight.

If you want to maximize your yield I'd advise staying with the tried and true methods of doing that. Bigger lights, CO2, and of course high quality nutrients and additives. If you want one magic bullet for bigger blossoms there isn't really one, but I'd say that Advanced Nutrients' Big Bud is pretty close to that.
