Big Lights Small Space

I have 2 questions:

1. is a 600 watt hps system too much light for a 3 feet wide, 3 feet deep, 4 feet tall grow box?

2. I am flowering now with an older version 400 watt hps in those same dimensions, and constantly struggling with temperatures running too high. I have been looking at: PL light Systems (air cooled), and the Sunlight supply yield master II aircooled, sunlight supply supersun, and sunlight supply cool breeze systems.

Does anyone Have experience with any of these systems, if so: if i were to buy one of these air cooled systems, how much would the temps be in my dimensions with the door closed? compared to my 100 plus degree with the door closed old version 400 watter.

An air-cooled 400 is enough for that space (44ish watts per foot).

So you could get an air-cooled hood to go with your current ballast or a new 600w that is air-cooled.

The 600 will likely improve yield and density for you with its 66+watts per foot....either way temps should drop a good bit....but you may still need an independant exhaust fan as well and a passive fresh air intake to get temps to an optimal level if you don't already.:blsmoke:

preciate the put back... i didnt know that the cool tube reflector could be used on any light... i think ima go get that... now all i gotta do is find a cheap electrician that wire the tube to my current light and find out if my light is a bt56 mh
