Big Bud Powder

Hi everyone,

Anyone help me here? I went away for a week, when I came back the reservoir smelt horrible. I found out that the smell was from the Big Bud Powder, it happens a few hours after I add it.

I have used the Big Bud Liquid before and it was fine. Has anyone else had problems with the powder form? All my tomato plants basically went yellow, and are close to death because of it, if the powder's what caused it.

Ok thanks, basically I was in week 5 of flower when this happened, now week 7. Almost all the leaves have died, and those who are there are brown and yellow and dying. I wonder should I just pull them out?

Sorry, I meant the plants, or at least one of them. It has virtually no leaves left and is all very dry. I wonder if I should just take it down? Doesn't seem to be growing anymore.

leaves are dying because isnt Big Bud powder a 0 for N? This is why i dont use it without mixing a small dose of grow nute to sustain good color throughout

I mixed the powder in a liter of water and mixed that into the rez at the specs given on the back. I had an airstone in the rez and used it with sensi bloom nutes? Do you mean regular grow nutes? like for veg phase?

The ratio on the Big Bud powder I used from Humboldt was like 0-55-35 and was causing my leaves to die off too soon. I am not sure if the hydro mix has the same ratio

Ok I don't quite get the 0-55-35 part, it says on the back to mix it at 0.5g per ltr I think.

Anyways, now that all the leaves are dead, should I just pull the plant? If it has no leaves it can't photosynthesize right, or something like that?

You still have flowers? the 0-55-35 is NPK value and the plant needs the N to keep it from yellowing too much. There should be Nitrogen level listed as well as dosage per gallon or litre. If your budding with no leaves you can let it keep going. Some of the Bloom mixes do not contain enough nitrogen to keep the fan leaves fed during bloom period.

Thank you very much for the answer. Very helpful.

It was flowering but decided to get rid of it anyway. I just can't bear the sight of it when it looks so dead and with hardly any leaves left. I won't use the powder again :spew:

Moving houses in a couple of months so I'll have to wait for before I start again:cry:. Thank again.
