BG C99 vs Generic

Hey guys, so I'm looking into buying some C99 beans and I was trying to figure out if I'd be better off getting them from Brothers Grimm (8 beans for $145) or Growers choice wich from researching has a pretty good reputation (10 beans for $98.)

I'm guessing there's a reason why BG's beans are more expensive, leaning more towards quality but I'm trying to find out if the price difference is worth it or if I'm just paying for the name..

Yes there is a reason the BG are more expensive and that reason is you're paying for a brand name. Unfortunately as has been stated it's very questionable whether they're still using the original genetics. I've never had the original circa 2003 but I personally preferred the female seeds version of c'99 over the new BG version.

what they are selling now is a newer c99 with different parents.....its not the original genetics. (It still maybe good nonetheless.)

I second this^^^^ Email MikeJ at peak and ask for the c99. $40 Canadian a pack and it is without a doubt the original c99.

The new BG c99 is straight shit. I have an original unopened pack of BG very first release of c99. Mr. Soul tried to buy them from me. And he was very adamant about it. I test for him. Well use too. He offered me all kinds of shit for the pack. Which makes me think he def lost the parents. The way he acted. He has my cell number. He literally called me 11 times in one day. Needless to say I still have the pack. And I agree Mike has the original c99. I've run it and loved it. I wouldn't waste the extra money to only be disappointed. I was gifted a clone of the new c99 it was horrible.

Thanks for the feedback guys! I looked and it's not in Peak's catalog but I'll shoot Mike an email fingers crossed.. Appreciate you guys lookin' out

I have heard the new BG C99 is the same as the old by some. Others say no. It looks the same for sure. I went with Peak and Joey Weed cause of price and knowing it is of old lineage. Peak got it from the Frost bros by way of Joey Weed who got it from Grimm. Or so the story goes. I am running the Joey C99 this time. First time with the C99, looks very indica in veg.

Thanks for the info, i'm all about hearing about stuff like that.. How far along are they? I'd like to check out some photos or hear how you're goin about them

What about Mosca Seeds? Great Lakes Genetics has S1 Fem C99 seeds from them....not sure if any quality.
