My plants got in the 90's today and everything is going great. I'm just using the frame of the tent. The paint on the frame is ok, its the material or liner in the tent that's the problem. I'm just promoting awareness to those having issues.

I will say that HTG was super amazing in taking care of this issue. They took the tent back, gave me a newer model with the windows and gave me a store credit for all the hassles. They were very communicative during the whole issue and took care of the situation very well. I was impressed. After hearing of people having some major issues with the return process, etc, I thought I was in for a ride. But, it wasn't the case. Figured I'd share the story.

I can't believe it. I called HTG supply and they took care of me. They are going to ship me a new tent. Only a few of the older AggroMax tents have this offgass problem. The new tents with the window don't have this problem. Aggromax fixed the issue in the newer tents.

WOW! Just wanted to say that I came across this post again today and I am shocked. I too have been having a problem with yellowing and no growth after purchasing 5 weeks ago the 4 x 8 Agromax Grow Tent WITH WINDOWS! Same dying, yellowing leaves and everything. A buddy of mine also purchased the 4x4 model and is having the same issue! We were back and forth on what it was. Like Nightmare we checked everything, TDS, PH, Temps, Humidity... Tried adding more CalMag, Epsom salts, everything dies or just doesn't grow while more and more leaves just fry. Lights are at top of tent, 4.5 feet away, temps at 82 but STILL THEY DIE! I'm calling HTG and taking this tent down! It is the new one with the windows! I will post a picture of problem but was hoping if any of the above posters might respond if they are having problems with new tents with windows, because I sure am!

Oh and by the way took one of the plants out of tent to mom before switching light cycle and it fully recovered while it's sisters are dying. Oh and I found this post before I ordered it but thought it wasn't the issue because mine is newer model WITH windows. Beware!!!!!! I just want to return this and buy something better, I am beyond frustrated.

I had the older model without the windows and it gassed off like crazy, the guy at HTG even said they have problems with some of them. I now have the newer model with windows and I am NOT having any problems with it. I also washed the new tent in the tub with dawn like 10 times. The water was pure piss yellow with the first three washes. Also make sure you are pulling air in from outside. I have an open vent in my room that pulls air from outside and the tent gets passive air through the flap, I then have a 400 CFM exhaust fan pullling air through into my garage. I'm not surprised the new model is doing this and I believe you, the old tent cost me over 1k in seeds last year, $500 in clones and genetics I can't replace. I thought I was doing something wrong. As soon as I got rid of that old tent all the problems stopped and the plants recovered. What's weird is that it does not affect every tent.

I believe that all new tents gass off somewhat. The old tent when I climbed inside to put it together gave me a headache and made me short of breath,my heart was racing. I believe it can take a year for the VOC's to go away. Just like when you buy a brand new car, it takes about a year before the new car smell is gone.

I really just want to save people the frustration and keep them aware.

An actual picture of a gassing off product tubing!

So you washed the entire tent including bottom? Bet that was a bitch. How did you dry it?

I would do that if I thought it would help. I might call HTG first before I do and see what they recommend as only 5 weeks old. I'm about to go take some pics and will post back. Mine look exactly the same, starts at tips/sides and works its way inward. Not Mag deficiency as you usually see in the veins first.

I am not pulling direct fresh air in as was not having a problem before. I will pipe some in tomorrow. I am usuing 2 400 cfm fans. One cools lights through a filter, the other exhausts tent air out into garage. I am not a newbie and have had my fair share of problems along the way but nothing like this!

Ok here are some pics. I have different strains, all ones I have done successfully before without problems before the tent. Even put all of my moms in there that where healthy 2 feet bushy monsters and all have succumb to this.

At a loss at what to do next, will exhaust all of the tent air outside and get some fresh air in the room. Will passively let that air come in bottom of tent flaps. If they let me trade it in on possibly another brand might do that. Looks exactly like the same problem. Little leery about washing and having to lift/dry such a heavy tent (4x8). How did you dry it?

Again thanks for the response, keep fighting the good fight!

Yep that's gassing off for SURE! Are you sure those plastic buckets are not gassing off? I'm just making sure there is nothing inside the tent causing this. I switched my buckets to hydro farm just incase. This is the first I have heard of the new window tents doing this. They should not be selling tents that do this! You should tell HTG supply to take a look at this thread! I'm also using two 400 cfm fans just like you, one for the lights and one for exhaust.

It was a bitch washing the tent, it took me all day to do it, around 9 hours. I would fill the tub up and soak the tent and then drain it and repeat. I did the top and bottom with all the pull out velcro flaps, EVERYTHING! I never dried it, I just put the tent together wet and it dried itself pretty fast. I did it just incase. The water was so yellow and nasty the first two times, I had pieces of fabric and material floating all over.

How long have the plants actually been in the tent?

I'm not having problems with the tent, I'm having some light bleaching because my plants grew too high. The first sign I noticed when the old tent was gassing off was, no growth at all, it's stopped dead in it's tracks!

The good news is if you take your plants out they will recover fully. The bad news is that any plants in the same room even outside the tent will get hit!

So glad I must have gotten my tent when they got rid of the windowless ones and just switched over to the new window ones (before they started having problems with those too???).....but if they are back to the window ones gassing off, that really does suck. Makes me glad mine has lasted a year almost.

After you get a new tent or whatever, if you want to be 100% safe, you should be growing in felt pots....not any sort of plastic. Because all plastic and pvc is gonna "gas". It is all made with plastic hardeners.

Well mine is a windowed version and definitely have the same problem. I hope this thread saves others some heartache. I have used these plastic pots for years before with no issues. As matter of fact, the one that I pulled from the tent fully recovered in the same pot so I don't think that is the issue.

Just got off the phone with HTG, said I could send it back and could either receive store credit or a replacement tent. I will have to pay for the shipping as he says its their policy on anything over 14 days. He said they sell a ton of these and only have a few people who call in with problems. Buddy of mine ordered the 4x4 tent just 2 weeks before me and he is having the same issue. Im boxing up this MF today and it's going back. I'm gonna probably get a Secret Jadin tent from somewhere else as they only carry Agromax at HTG. I'll be dammed if I'm EVER gonna try to use one of their tents again. Will post back with updates.

Please consider buying a different brand of tent other than Agromax!!! This has been worse than my spider mite invasion that happened two years ago!!!! Ahhhhh! :cuss:

I've heard good news about Secret Jardin and the new gorilla grow tents. And I must admit that my Agromax tent has been a pain in the ass at times with the zipper getting stuck..........

Yes heard good things about both of those. Will research and order something today as I need another tent. Was hoping to find one with same dimensions 4.5 x 8. Will let y'all know what I decide to go with. Won't be another AGROMAX TENT OF DEATH!

The thing that sucks is that I paid $89 to ship my tent back. It's around 72 pounds. I just don't get that only some of the tents do this. Maybe excess glue? I sure wish I knew what gassing off looked like 8 months ago, it would have saved me lots of trouble.
I agree on not getting another Agromax tent, it's not worth getting another one that is gassing off. I only did it because I ran out of cash and my plants were getting too stretchy and I wanted to flip them. I have had good luck with Agromax bulbs, I had my 600watt Agromax bulb running for a good 6 months with no problems.
Agromax is a Chinese brand, I looked it up.

Also cc08150 not all plastic gasses off. I have used Food Grade plastics and they do not do this.

I would stay away from Agromax tents ,HTG brands and Grobright everything. In that order, Grobright being the worst. All of them are cheap chinese made items rebranded.

The sad thing Treus is that you read this thread and still got one :(

Yes I know! Ain't it a bitch! Ha! I thought because of the post of people saying that the ones with windows were doing fine that I was ok. Even you said it the replacement one didn't. I always research everything to the extreme before I make my decisions.

Sometimes the way to truly learn is to fuck everything up. Seems to be the case with this hobby. I've been at it for decades and still learn lessons the hard way. Just ordered the Secret Jardin 8 x 4 x 6.6. About 110 more than the Agromax. Like you I have learned that cheaper is not always better. I agree with everything you said about Grobright and HTG brands. I will invest in quality equipment and will consider it another lesson learned. Time to take down that mother....

Guy I talked to today said not all have a problem. He said they sell alot and only SOME people call in with my exact problem. He believes maybe something to do with adhesive, not really sure. He said they send them back to Agromax and never hear the reason it affects some. I just don't want to take the chance with another one. He COULDN"T guarantee that I wouldn't have a problem with a replacement one! I just didn't want to take a chance. It has started killing everything I put in there, Even stuff that has doing fine.

I can tell you that when I took it down today and all the scrubbers/fans were off, I did notice a plastic almost solvent type of smell. It got worse as I rolled it up.
